Nas - Deja Vu (Rare Acetate Rip)

Post by Andyman187 »

Somehow I found myself on Mike Nice's Blog scrolling down to his Nas - Deja Vu post and deciding to check the comments. I don't know if any of you have already caught this but "blazedout" posted a comment on April 7 saying "Best copy you'll find...Straight from rare acetate...Listen to the pops...Enjoy."

Props to blazedout! As good as it gets until it's released officially...

I was gonna mention that I'll try to take serch4beatz's cleaned up version and clean up some of the pops, but this record is not fixable with all that crackling. Not complaining, just sayin'. Roy Johnson, you out there? You think that click repair you use can fix this up any?
Also, serch, I don't think you realized that you turned it from a 320 rip to a 160 rip cause you have your lame set at 160. :p But if you could up it in 320, I'll still give it a shot at cleaning some of the more prominent pops out of it.
I would do it myself, but I don't know how to fix the panning like you did.
Let me know.

Here's me taking a stab at cleaning it up a little. I attempted to remove some of the hiss and crackling and adjusting the the L/R balance. Also removed the dead space at the beginning and end and re-did the fade out.

good, bad, whatever?

My bad, Verge. I'm just checking this thread for the first time. I'll see what I can do with click repair, and then compare it to dirt dog's version.

No doubt, Roy. Yeah, the kid deaded the og link after we posted dirt dog's version. I'll see if I can up it real quick tonight.
It might not be worth the trouble since I don't think the noise that's left on it is really fixable. Maybe worth a shot, though.
