hiphop breakbeats

Post by K-Funk »

lately i started to enjoy hip-hop break beats and i'm looking for ep's and albums with this kind of stuff. if you have any ep's / albums from jeep beat collective, dontay, dj spinna, redrum breakbeats, crooklyn clan, jeep beat society, wreck all stars, rusty killa productions, frankie the pacemaker, brooklyn slumlordz, dj fashion, rek shit rebulz, or any other artist/group who did this kind of stuff would be MAD appreciated!

p.s. : i know we got the request thread but i'm sure i'm not the only one who like hiphop breakbeats and maybe y'all wanna talk about this...

Nice.

I think homie means break records or party records.. ?

I don't think he means Scratch/Turntablism records. Which needs it's own thread anyway.

Either way... I'm down.

I've been recently transferring mine for serato use but have been condensing them to only the parts I like/use..

I'll upload a Superduck promo 7 inch I have which uses stuff not on either of the 2 12's. (There are only 2 right ? I have mine w/my Malcom Mclaren joints they ripped the covers for on #2)

I'm a sucker for Party Breaks - Kenny Dope, Funkmaster Flex, Frankie Cutlass, Crooklyn Clan, Nubian Crackers etc. Basically anything from the mid 90's on Nervous or AV8.

I have a whole bunch on vinyl (with no way of ripping them) and a load that I've downloaded. Here's some links I found with a quick search:

* Frankie Cutlass 'The Frankie Cutlass Show' LP was posted here a while back. Has the classic 'Puerto Rico' and 'Wede Man' amongst other breaks:
http://www.philaflava.com/forum/viewtop ... highlight=

* Frankie Cutlass 'Puerto Rico' 12" VLS. Some good alternate versions:
http://ovaground.blogspot.com/2008/07/f ... -1996.html
http://rapidshare.com/files/128351687/puertorico.rar

* Nubian Crackers. I posted a thread a while back asking for some Nubian Crackers joints, and Strickty Beats has most of them. Check the thread here:
http://www.philaflava.com/forum/viewtop ... 170a37c311

* Kenny Dope 'Unreleased Project' - 'Get On Down':

I requested this on here ages ago, but nobody could help - I used to have this, but it got lost somewhere over the years. If anyone can hook me up, I'd appreciate it.

As far as I'm aware, Rek Sh*t Rebulz is just an alias for Frankie Feliciano / Frankie The Pacemaker.

Okay so here's some more stolen links to some essential Party Breaks:

* Crooklyn Clan 'Eargasmz' EP. Found this link on Strictly Beats again. Some great cuts on here:
http://strictlybeats.blogspot.com/2006/ ... -1996.html

* DJ Mister Cee 'Where Brooklyn At? (Right Here)'. Classic joint flipping the Biggie vocal and the SWV joint - this was BIG back in the day. I found this link at Jeff Roy's Single Club blog:
http://jeffroylikessingles.blogspot.com ... shake.html

* AV8 Records catalogue. Here's a massive post I found full of a whole heap of AV8 records downloads including the classics "Chooze One' and 'Frankilnz', but be warned a lot of these are newer joints:

I once heard Flex play a remix of this that had some different drums and a sample from Jackson 5 'I Want You Back' - you know anything about that?

thanks for the heads up on those blogs btw, definitely going to check those.

I'll try and up some more stuff tonight.
