cm famalam freestyles 1998-2002 (400 MB)

Post by Roy Johnson »

400 MB worth of freestyles from Bobbito's CM Famalam Radio Show (1998-2002). Most of the individual mp3s are lengthy sessions. Some of the artists featured: J-Live, Atmosphere, Sir Menelik, Guru, MF Doom, Camp Lo, All Natural, Juggaknots, Non Phixion, Necro, Yak Ballz, Common Sense, etc. I acquired this stuff in a trade back in 2003.

I just downloaded these... and as I was giving them a listen I realized that I made these CDs! I burned them onto CD from my old tapes in around 2001. I sent copies to a few heads I was in contact with from UGHH.com and Necro's forum. I guess they passed them out further and they wound up on here.

I should have at least another one or two CDs full of freestyle sessions like this laying around somewhere. As I recall, one of them has Cella Dwellas all over it.

Small world huh? lol

Oh and I just thought it might be worth mentioning that not all of those sessions are from Stretch and Bob/CM Famalam... some are from Martin Moore and Mayhem's show/DJ Riz and Eclipse on 89.1 WNYU. Those Half-A-Mil sessions are old and are some of my fav GEMS! Also the one where he rhymes with Dominion on the Firewater beat is from 1995!

Yeah, more freestyles would be great. Or demos or shows or whatever.
Did you also tape from 105.9, Awesome 2 and Hank Love & Half Pint and those shows?

Looking for G Rock - Follow For Now Remix from 105.9.
Or a good copy of the og.

Always looking for Half A Mill demos that got played on 89.1 around 95
and 96.
Also looking for these 2 demos from a group called "The See'ers", I believe.
Bobbito played them. The hook for one of them was, "Don't fuck with I,
unless you wanna die, this is not a game, mothafucker you can die."

And the other hook was something like, "I could push through ya whole crew to get to you..."

I'm also looking for this night when Lord digga was up
at Stretch n Bob at or around 97 or early 98. He brought his own beats
and basically rhymed live demos. He did one called, "The Land Down
Under"
, which sampled that 80's track. And he did "Flows Is Tight"
either live or they played the demo
.

And he did a freestyle over one of his own beats where he said something like, "On jets with Joe Klecko and pounds of dope..."

Any help with anything would be highly appreciated.

First off, let me just correct myself on one small thing... the guy who rhymes with Half-A-Mil on that one session is named "Dominator", not "Dominion".

Now that I cleared that up, let me say to Verge,

I'm sorry to say I have nothing from the See'ers crew or G Rock. I also only taped the Hank Love and Half Pint show one time in my life, and I only kept maybe 2 songs or so from it.

I do however, distinctly recall listening to Lord Digga at KCR for the session that you mentioned. But I don't believe that I recorded the show that night, sorry.

I did however find a few more volumes of rhyme sessions on CD, which I just ripped and am sharing for all to enjoy. It's 4 more full CDs of sessions from WKCR and WNYU. I think I have at least one more CD of sessions somewhere, it is currently eluding me though.

Classic Half-A-Mil joint!

Thanks again for all your work, UBSscientist.

Did anyone else have the same "corrupted file" crap problem with Vol 6 Track 3?
Not a big deal, like siderealist said, Mediafire has been doing this alot, lately.

:ohsh: I didn't realize there was a tenth track.
I don't have that one either.
I need to get to emailing Mediafire some complaints.
They've always been my favorite, but they've been slipping hard lately.

Good looks on noticing this. I figured out what happened, and mediafire is not at fault, I'll explain...

CD #4 is supposed to have 10 tracks but track #4 is missing, it is supposed to be a Mr. Hyde verse that was a continuation from the session on track #3. As I mentioned above in an earlier post... I originally traded these discs which I made myself with a few heads from UGHH and NecroHipHop... whomever it was that I gave these CDs to, edited track 4 from CD 4 before they gave it to Roy Johnson (Perhaps they just didn't like the Mr. Hyde verse and omitted it because they thought it was weak, who knows). The tracklistst that I posted were copied directly from my original CDs. So here is my original track #4 from CD 4 - Mr. Hyde verse -
