I wonder if it's just different outtakes of the same tracks that Stretch got,
or some completely different songs.

Stretch & Eli are (well, maybe more Stretch) fuckin cock-suckers. Stretch with his lame-ass "I know everyone understands" regarding the "drops" and what not, when the reality it's NO, no one fuckin understands... That shit was LAME and ANNOYING, straight up! It literally RUINED the show.
I'm gonna go hit up that Blog...

hahaha Funny! Hey, maybe if you were scoopin up vinyl since '89 and been diggin the last 20 years and had the collection I had you'd be pretty damn proud too. See, unlike a lot of others, I don't gotta pay these extreme (lame) prices for records (or even CD's) I bought when they actually came out. I have a lot to be proud about, son.serch4cockz wrote:please mention your huge record collection in the process

^It's great that you've been collecting records for a sustained period of time and you're"OG" than some of the young bucks (myself included) and foreign vinyl collectors here.
However, and perhaps most importantly, I never seem to know what you're insinuating with all of these "record collection" or "all-real vinyl" claims. Does your record collection provide a more authentic listening experience than mp3s? Or is it just "better" in general?
If postmodernism has taught us anything, it's that there is no "best", there are only different "bests" for different people. Moreover, music remains a crucial form of entertainment for humans because of its transportability without sacrificing listening experience.
Records (with sundries included) are great. But as the listener, I have no idea (nor do I care) if you're playing a original vinyl, an mp3 or a CD you picked up out of a budget bin for $1.85. The song is the exact same.
Collecting vinyl might bring you pleasure, but some do not have the financial means to tirelessly seek out obscure stuff on Discogs & eBay or spend hours in heated debate with some Swedish schmuk about trimming off a few bucks on some exorbitant BIN price so I can hit Popeye's for 2-for-1 Thursdays. Vinyl is best for you, but I'll take my pirated mp3s (thanks T.R.O.Y.), remastered CDs and tapes. I'm glad records make you happy, I really am. But for the sake of those that don't care, can you please stop?

Uhhhhhh, you talk like I have a problem with people dissin me. I don't!! It provides me with tons of entertainment. And how the fuck do you think I get soooooo many people downloading my mixes??? Cuz they hear shit about some "wicked guy" or even see my posts or responses to posts all over the internet and then check me out and realise that I make simple, yet very dope mixes. Keep on dissin, kid! ;)step son wrote:maybe if you shut the fuck up about your record collection and acted like less of a retard people would stop dissing you.

YES to both.
Do some research cuz ALL the research proves that real vinyl is THE BEST LISTENING EXPERIENCE, period. That's not my opinion, it's a fact! The Midnight Marauder wrote:If postmodernism has taught us anything, it's that there is no "best", there are only different "bests" for different people.
Myself, and PLENTY of others, DO CARE!The Midnight Marauder wrote:Records (with sundries included) are great. But as the listener, I have no idea (nor do I care) if you're playing a original vinyl, an mp3 or a CD you picked up out of a budget bin for $1.85. The song is the exact same.

Nothing good or productive can come of the mp3/vinyl arguments.
If it continues I'll just delete, delete, edit, delete, delete, delete, edit..
Carry on with Stretch/Eli/demo discussions. Please.

I respond to peoples comments.
ANYWAYZ, I wonder if Stretch & Eli are ever gonna do a show like this again??? And if so, I wonder if they'll take peoples thoughts and feelings about them "drops" into consideration this time.
***EDIT***
I notice you changed my words! *shaking head* Stop trying to control what people say. It doesn't matter if you like what I say or not. Jeez...

I understand Shawn. I wasn't specifically directing that at you. Just at all
the arguing, in general. Just keep it moving...
I doubt they'll do another show like this with no drops.
I mean, they should. They probably had higher ratings , but I think it's
a free station anyway. I dunno.

Gentleman can we kindly stop the back n forth bickering about everything unrelated to this discussion.
everyone is entitled to their own listening taste format
my first preference is in fact vinyl do to its richer warmer an fuller sound
and the fact that i am a vinyl collector
However if Im unable to obtain a selection on vinyl Im more than happy to embrace other formats in which it exist.
In regards to placing drops on material i fully understand it. Its like placing a watermark on a piece of film or document that quote on quote rare material so it can be enjoyed & distributed to the masses.
I've had a lot of material over the years doing mixtapes when artist were like Mike you can use this but PLEASE TALK OVER IT OR TAG IT i don't want this getting out in an untouched form.
At the end of the day just being able to hear a selection on music i haven't heard before with a drop on it is better than not being ever to hear it all.
I think for me it keeps my passion to continue to dig and track down that untouched untagged version.
Peace and lets continue to try to keep things cool around here. This place is one of my favorite spots to visit and interact.
