The (In)Complete Cenobites
@ kimani: you asked for it...
In an early post I mentioned something about an imaginary Cenobites LP I was listening to.
My love affair w/the Keith and Don on and off project began in 92 when KCR played the 1st of many (We Can Do This). In two handy zip files, you will find everything I have gathered over the years from one of the greatest collaborations known to hip hop. Includes not only the LP, demos/outtakes and the Demented Thoughts EP, but also selections from Godfather Donגs Slave of New York EP, Ill Funk Freaker EP and Ultraגs Four Horsemen. Plus material from TROY posters. Nothing really new here, just a consolidation for fans.

Peace to Verge for providing the last piece of the puzzle (Time Is Now). I also included a KCR rip of a slightly different mix of Cold Peeinג On גEm. Listen to it however you choose, but since nobodyגs asking hereגs what my sequence looks like (tracks in zip folder 1):
How The Fuck You Get a Deal
Hawaii
Lex Lugor
Cold Peein On Em
Slave of New York
You're Late
Kick a Dope Verse
Cage/Don promo
See That Man On The Street
Return To Zero
Rhymes I Sniff
Don Don Don
Your Time Is Now
Keep On
Mommy
Kick a Dope Verse (remix)
The rest to me is bonus material. Don't bother asking me why I included Slave Of NY. I guess it always felt like a Cenobites track to me, more so than I Was Forgotten. Of course, as Don implied in interviews, there are tons of Cenobites material yet to be released. Which means expect another Cenobites post in 2025 (maybe).
And of course if I missed anything in my exhaustive years long search, add on!

Very nice work, aleph. Word. I hope Dante Ross parts with the
demos he said he has eventually. It's kind of a major missing piece to the
puzzle. I think he said he had a bunch of Keith demos produced by Don from
around maybe 95. Hooo-wee. I could be mistaken, but I know he mentioned
them in an interview. Whether he has them, or Bobbito, I'm not positive.

Oh word???
I didn't know that. What's Dante Ross doing with those?
Funny you mention other Keith/Don demos floating around. Reginald C. Dennis wrote in the Apr 93 Source:
"Kool Keith aka Rhythm X is hard at work on his solo LP. I've heard most of his Pound Ov K-OS demo and it is as bugged-out as you would expect."
What else could that be but Cenobites shit??? I wonder how much of that demo leaked (on KCR) and if Dennis still has it...

There was an interview posted on like a skateboard type of blog with
Ross. That's where he mentioned the demos and I'm pretty sure he
mentioned "Cold Peein On 'Em" as being one of them.
Now, I'm thinking he probably said that he either heard them or was there
when they were made, cause he's not the type to mention stuff that doesn't
involve him. Now that I think about it, he probably didn't say he had them,
probably Bob or Don. But I believe it was said by One Leg Up that Don's
vaults were done after that "Ill Funk Freaker EP".
If someone can find that video, I'll try also.
It was posted or linked on TROY somewhere probably last spring.

Good intvw, thx Verge. Though I wish they had a version edited for people who don't have ADD.
I guess that's more evidence that Stretch and Bob pretty much have everything that Keith and Don cared to give away. But if there was one song that should be pressed up it's Cold Peein On Em (with the best outta-the-vaults never-before-heard cookie on the flip).
