^^Yeah, Lakim co-produced "*!*! What U Heard". Funny, I just mentioned
that on a quick VLS blog post I did last night.

Here's the Tony Bones interview:
http://www.unkut.com/2007/02/tony-bones-interview/

Wonder what happened with Ak Skills.

And True Master. True Master was a great producer to me, at one point.
Had his own Wu sound. Them slowed down, off kilter samples and drums
were great.

Afaik, he does a lot of artwork for the last bunch of years.
There was a very good interview with him at Unkut a while ago.
I can't get to it from work, but he speaks on how he was signed,
in the process of making an album, and the label wanted him to jump
on that jiggy bs and even said they wanted to make him into some sort
of neo Slick Rick. He wasn't beat and left the label.
I might be a little off about all of this, it's just how I remember it.
Did he release more than like 2 songs?

There's about a handful of really dope demos floating around.
I'll try to put them in a folder and upload them later, if nobody
else beats me to it.

There's also "Deep In Your Bones" :pause: , and I think
another one I can't remember right now.
Maybe we should just start a Tony Bones thread and
try to get everything up there.

Kwest Tha Madd Ladd?
He recorded This Is My First Album in 94 and later released These Are My Unreleased Recordings. The last time I saw him pop up was on the first Lyricist Lounge album in 98.
The man could freestyle like a motherfucker too. Has anyone heard any other tracks by him?

Also, MC Serge.. what happened to him? Did he quit rappin' totally when he lost that freestyle battle versus Freshco back in the days? His track "Both Sides" which was on a Stretch & Bobbito show in 1993 was the SHIT. I wish he did more joints, maybe he did? I don't know..
Good call on Big Ish, that demo is dope for sure, props to Kevin Beacham for postin' that up in the Freestyles, Demos and Rarities thread.

I'm not sure about Serge but on page eight of the Track I.D.s thread Digital Stimulation wrote this:

Wierd, because I asked him if he had heard this demo before and he told me not and asked me if I could send it to him. I had forgotten where I got it from and since Kevin shares loads of dope demos I figured I'd ask if it was him that shared it, but apparently it wasn't he said or his memory isn't the greatest.

Yeah, I'm totally wrong. It was Vincent Lopez, of the THIMK Source blog who posted that one, whoops.

He used to freestyle on the wake up show every week for a couple months and then he just disappeared. I remember him, Otherwize and Michael Myers among others. I fucking wish I still had those tapes. Motherfucker that was some good shit.

Anttex also launched Company Flow. His label, Libra released Juvenile Techniques, and even before that El-P was down with him as a shorty, going by the handle Jamel (Jamie Meline). At the end of Anttex's As The World Turns (w/Havoc) he gives him a shout-out. Libra is also where EL met Bigg Jus, who was an employee.

Of course, things ended badly between them. Legend has it that Jus jetted Libra after he overheard shady business dealings that would have jerked El and Co Flow (sound familiar?). That's why you hear EL rap "Fuck Anttex" on one the Stretch & Bob freestyles.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Solo
Come Upstairs
Pure Marrow (aka Deep In Ya Bones)
Rhythm & Ism (w/Mr. Live; mislabeled as Hold Me Back)
The Return (Kopa Riddim)

w/Mr Live (in their duo 88whatsaname):
Hunger Strike
Placebo
Throw Ya Mitts
Splashin' Ova Monica
89.9 promo
Cooked In Curry (from Mr. Live 07 LP The Bang Theory)

Also cameo'ed on a Geology track called Tetsuo's Revenge, w/Ocean Aquanaut.

Add on!

Thanks for the knowledge dropped, aleph. I had no idea about all of that.
EDIT: I meant the Antexx stuff. Thanks for this too, though. I'm gonna
start another thread for the Tony Bones stuff:
TONY BONES:
http://www.philaflava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=118186

Speaking of "Libra Records": There was this dude generically named "Legit",
who dropped only one single that I know of on that label.
This would have been a dollar crate record a few years ago, but now, with
the recent trend of "rare random rap" on ebay, the shit is pretty expensive if
you can find it.
Legit - Jungles Of The East (Produced by Antexx):
<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CD1uqYSCVVg&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CD1uqYSCVVg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object>

Anyone know if this dude ever did anything else?

I found it when I first got online but don't remember where I got it from.
I know you obviously taped Bobbito and WNYU and WBAI, but did you ever
listen to 105.9 back then?
Hank Love n Half Pint, Special K n Teddy Ted, Dirty Dozens show?
There's probably another couple, and it might have been 105.1, I don't remember.

Anyway, my point was that's where I had it from back then and had been
looking for it ever since. If anyone got this on vinyl and would sell it for a
decent price, let me know..
Here's the track at 256kbps:
Legit - Junglez Of The East
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/sh ... on=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="28" id="divplaylist"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 508054-453" /><embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 508054-453" width="335" height="28" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashpl ... d></object>
http://www.divshare.com/download/10508054-453
"Lets see if he stare again, kids be gettin found
beat the fuck down like Nancy kerrigan..."

It's not tagged by any ripping crews or anything, so I have no idea where
it's from. But it does say VLS, so it must've been out there at some time.
I have the other track somewhere, but it's not half as nice as this.
If anyone got the full rip, that would be nice.

Markshot...I am pretty sure that YZ had problems had problems with his hearing, in 2007 he appeared on albums from Atmosphere (Leak At Will), X-Clan, Zimbabwe Legit and The Visionaries.

Kwame still produces and produced "Listen" on Talib Kweli's Eardrum album and has produced for Raheem DeVaughn, Skillz and a few others.

Dred Scott actually appeared on John Brown's King Of Da Burbz mixtape, twice :naswtf:

Here's one...Hurby Luv Bug

Didn't Jaz request that? Or was that a different Jungles Of The East? Either way, I don't know who filled the request, so I guess this post is useless.

Edit: TheBigSleep filled the request and baijterfobia (or something like that) requested it, but I don't know if either of them have further info on Legit.

If youre talking about these guys:

After they released their second album Stone Soup, I think Oracle called it quits. Not sure what happened w/their DJ

Kimani went on to found the Third Earth record label which put out the Juggaknots Clear Blues Skies re-issue and records by Jean Grae, Oddjobs, and Black Panther.

Kimani also linked up w/Mr. Len for the group Roosevelt Franklin...they dropped an album on Third Earth too. I think they were supposed to be working on a follow up...but I dont know if that ever went/will go down.
