This show is pretty nice as it features an ILL freestyle session with Supernatural, Naptron, P.E.A.C.E. and (the weak) 2Mex. It also features a pretty long solo freestyle session with Supernatural where Sway & Tech throw out words for Supernat... Classic. And itג€™s pretty funny when The Alchemist gets on cuz King Tech is like ג€œyo, where do I remember you from???ג€ and The Alchemist resoponds with ג€œthe Whooliganzג€. haha The Whooliganz were on the Wake Up Show back in ג€™94 when Alchemist was like 15. Enjoy...

Also, The RZA and Inspectah Deck stopped by to co-host along with Zion I and Slum Village coming through and gettin into some freestyle sessions. Enjoyג€¦

Hereג€™s another Wake Up Show from ג€™98 and on this one, the guest (once again) is DJ Homicide, who by the way, lays down a pretty nice set. The phone calls they take are pretty funny and what makes it even funnier is when they play the calls, theyג€™re speeding them up and slowing them down. haha I guess these are mostly phone calls they were taking during the time Rev or Homicide was in the mix. Sorry for there being a commercial on Side B. I have to assume I fell asleep recording this back then cuz that did happen from time to time. haha Enjoy...

Good shit thomas... I have all of those Wake Up Show Mix Tape and Freestyle CD's too! I was gonna get around to rippin 'em all at some point.

Hey, you're from LA, don't you have any Wake Up Show tapes? Or even Friday Night Flavas tapes? I'd love to get more, especially Wake Up Shows from when it first started airing in LA in late '94 and all the way to '98. Or do you know anyone who has those kinds of tapes? There has to be a ton of fools out there who used to tape the show, especially the Wake Up Show cuz at their highest point, they had fuckin 12 million listeners worldwide!

Yeah there's 2 more that I have. And I believe there's 1 more out there too, but I don't have it unfortunately. All my WUS Freestyle Volumes on CD are the original issues. I say that cuz they were repressed and with different covers and all. As far as the mixes from these "Mix Tape" CD's being played on the show, that kinda thing didn't happen often. Rev was almost always mixing live. But yes, that other WUS Mix Tape (CD) from my picture below is 2 different Classics mixes and have been played on a live WUS broadcast. But as far as the one you also have, I don't know if any of those mixes had ever been played on a live broadcast of the Wake Up Show.

haha This guy! But come on Jaz, it's not bragging when I'm just stating facts and proving that I have what I say I have. And I will eventually get around to uploading all this shit so I'm not just sayin I have it without sharing.

I'm probably gonna start uploading more '98-2001 Wake Up Shows. Starting in 2000 I was finally using 120 min tapes!!

Don't take this the wrong way, but I should care because?????

I do what I do and say what I say, period. You're with me or you're not... I really don't give a fuck.

And I'm on the internet to share my thoughts, opinions, mixes, tapes, records, cd's, ect. I'm not on here to make friends. I could care less if people like me, hate me, get annoyed of me, etc. Everyone has that lil "ignore" option on this Philaflava site so I suggest they use it.

Everyone has that lil "ignore" option on this Philaflava site so I suggest they use it.
so you don't give a fuck about your listeners?, nice one Shaun...

This guy!! I assume people listen to my radio shows and/or my mixes cuz they like my taste in Hiphop, they like the records I spin and maybe even like the way I spin the records. That's my reason for liking certain radio shows and certain dj's in general. I could care less how the person actually is. Pete Rock is probably my first or second favorite producer, yet he seems like a real asshole in real life. Do I care? No. I get plenty of people who e-mail me saying they love the mixes and always look forward to new ones, but that I seem like a dick or seem like an elitist asshole. haha

But anyways in general I'm not tryin to be a dick and piss people off, but it does tend to happen since I speak the truth and have no problem expressing my thoughts, opinions and feelings. Whatever though... And I think I'll upload another Wake Up Show tonight, I'm in the mood!

Nice Collection! Thanks for showing the other cds and all of the freestyles cds! I had never seen the OG cover of the first one...

Here's the CD for the Wake Up Show Unreleased Project that I posted a couple weeks ago for those who missed it.

Tough Love #3! haha Good shit WoofY. Gotta luh dem Asian hunniez...

This Wake Up Show is from when Sway was already on MTV and typically out in New York and not on the show, but would conduct interviews in NY and send them to LA to be aired on the show. This is also the time when the show was taken off the air in Los Angeles meaning that now King Tech & DJ Revolution were recording the show from Sway & King Techג€™s home studio in LA. The WUS show was still airing all over the US (including SF, Philly, Louisiana, Alabama, Hawaii) and in various countries. Enjoyג€¦
