Yeah Meyhem Lauren & J - Love have original music to offer, steadily climing over the years towards more recognition by being themselves.

Check this kids flow, it's real impressive, plus the beat has a feel good jazz vibe to it. I think I have the original sample but I can't remember the name of it.

That's Damu, right? He's another one that it took me a long time to peep his music cause of his name. Glad he hasn't been using that "fudgemonk" cognomen lately. Lol
He's got beats, though. Very adept producer.

For sure it's hard to pick a best cut off of that album. I think that it was originally released for free and then re-released at regular cost.

I actually hit the dude up regarding any vinyl releases. Nice guy. Said no vinyl releases slated at the moment. Shame - that instrumental would be dope to have.

Check "Propaganda", a new promo track by Freestyle of the Arsonists with Loghos Apili (that stands for 'Word-Threat' in Greek), new collabo album "I Am Hip-Hop" dropped today. This album means much to me, because Loghos Apili is my friend, plus my little brother made all the artwork for the cd and all the promo banners etc. No need to mention I've been a fan of Freestyle for a long time, so I'm very proud for my people. Hope you like this.
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o9JKRHNDJy8?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o9JKRHNDJy8?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
There's an official video for the track "Countdown" off the album, too, check if you want.
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tv-JC4jeUWk?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tv-JC4jeUWk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
You can also watch a 25min video documentary about the album. I'm pretty sure nobody here speaks Greek, but at least you can see Freestyle speaking about the tracks and everything.

This dude is my favourite emcee out there right now, 'neighbourhood kid' was a classic, but there doesnt seem to be that much about him out there. Proper 'sounds like the 90's' in the best possible way. Anyone know if he's had anything else out?

Merged..
Beats are pretty dope, will peep.

Casual dropped a new album and after one listen off the streaming version, I gotta say, it's pretty damn good. Even a nice re-flipping of this on there, very nice flip using parts of the singing too:
<object width="480" height="220"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/n80RkTQI08w?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/n80RkTQI08w?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="220" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Listen to and/or cop the digital Casual here for $8:

Intricate Dialect's passion for learning and understanding ancient Egypt has poured into his music with the album Kemet. Jazz samples, break beats, & electronic influence accompany Idski in travel through time via Hip Hop to one of history's most mysterious civilizations...and coming back to rap about it.
^I just started listening to this and its pretty decent so far. Read the description and if you think you might dig it, give it a shot. Beats are on point, but I'm only on track 4. It's one of them "name your price" deals so you can get it for free or for minimal coin.

Damn, i'm absolutly amazed by Kemets album. Thanks for tip fellas...it'll be one of 2011's best LP's, no question...last year, to me some of the best were Dysfunkshunal Familees' long coming LP and Tony Liv & Vincent Price "Building skyscrapers" and his other projects, from Remarkable Mayor to Green Llama Project.

Yeah that Large and Neek album was, for some reason, surprisingly(??) good. Definite worth a peep and/or cop. I mean, nothing groundbreaking or anything, but a pretty good listen for the most part.

These cats tapped into that Erick Sermon Cosmic Slop-Funk Circa 95 sound for this one:

I listen almost exclusively listen to golden era stuff and I dig Crown City Rockers...they manage to capture some of that 90's flavor.

I dig that Doxside joint, fresh. Thanks Scholar. Haven't peeped the Crown City Rockers yet but will do.

So, I think it was Zged who posted this here joint by Rasheed Chapell in the "Joint Of The Day" thread(and of course on youtube it was posted by OgDonNinja, either Crime Family or aReal the yt gawds):
<object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2__D81xbYbY?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2__D81xbYbY?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="390" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
So, apparently this was only a demo from the mid 90s but dukes is still doing fly shit with an album coming up soon. I was just peeping his last mixtape and its pretty dope. Sure there's some beats you already know on there, probably some that i should know but i don't follow as much newer stuff.
But there is a joint produced by Maleet!
I hope that means he does some joints for the album. Its a free mixtape, peep it:

Also, Damu The Fudgemunk has a bit of a nineties sound...particularly on his first two albums. Spare Time is dope as hell...buy it if you haven't already.
