nah, they said that this track was supposed to be an extra bonus track on the "Funky Technician Remix Project". have you not heard the Large Pro and Preemo remixes that dropped on 12"? i hardly think this remix is horrible, the original is way better so why even make a remix, but horrible?? no way

I really like the beat, but it doesn't seem to sit well with the acapella. Still, if anyone is in NY on the 29th of October...

Lord Finesse - You Know What I'm About (Remix) (Limited Edition Flexi-disc)

Slice-of-Spice is proud to present a previously unreleased Lord Finesse remix from 2004. This track was originally intended for the Funky Technician Remix Project (dropping on Slice-of-Spice in the Spring!) but never made the cut, and wasn't finished, so this is a rough mix.

This track has been pressed as a special edition flexi-disc (remember those?) for the WFMU Record Fair in NYC this weekend. There are very limited quantities available, and it won't be found anywhere else.

http://wfmu.org/recfair/

Slice-of-Spice will be running a table on Saturday ONLY, but will have label artists Paul Nice, K-Def, and Lord FInesse in attendance to meet fans and sign records. DON'T MISS OUT!

Lord Finesse is my favorite emcee of all-time, and this is a disgrace. Shit is SO bad.

No problem. According to Preem, Jay was supposed to be on the remake and never showed but Kane was right there so he jumped in the booth instead.

This is the second full concert footage to exist, after the Croatian footage that dropped a couple years back and the Live in Amsterdam (with A.G. from October 8th, 1998) audio that dropped back in 2003. It's from O.C.'s Jewelz tour featuring Big L from at least November 11th, 1997 through the end of the month.

We gonn' build like construction,
real hot production,
no playa hatin',
just congratulatin'.
Open your eyes,
it's no surprise,
word up,
Harlem World is on the rise.
My phone number's anonymous.
I get stacks and chickenheads can't get a dime o' this.
Front on me you must go,
I just flow,
puff 'dro,
it's all about the gusto,
L lust dough.
All you playa hatas stand up,
watch us flow.
I stay freakin' off with a handcuffed hoe.
If niggas wanna know:
Do L rock tours?
Do a pimp got whores?
Do RuPaul got balls?
I'm in charge of all,
I just threw a party at the Taj Mahal,
'cause The Mirage was small.
Split heads like the Red Sea,
peace to Craig G,
chicks be on me like the feds be,
and I never pay to sex, B.
You can handle L? Let's see.
I'm a bust in your mouth, swell up your jaws like Gillespie.
This chick Betsy,
looks sexy in the Lex-y,
half black, half Mexi',
complexion Nestlé.
Thighs gigantic,
big enough to make a guy panic,
a few drinks and she go down like the Titanic.
Aight?

I keep the Teflon vest on, tattoo on my left arm,
L the next don, wild like a ex-con.
My life revolve around stars and hoes,
ridiculous icy jewels, crazy cars and clothes.
Don't forget phat houses,
I love the way this track bounces,
word, L fuck with kis, you fuck with half ounces.
I want money like Trump got,
I'm too lazy to work and never had a jump shot.
So I got bricks from José, I sip rozay,
this dick is not free anymore, I make them hoes pay.
Bitches love us, 'cause we stay laced,
when we rock, you should see they face.
I motivate crowds like DJ Ace /
and I push a six with VA plates,
runnin' shit like a relay race.

I don't know man, I'd have to ask Jewlz the Director. I've been meaning to talk with him anyway. I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks for this Sleep! Always nice to check some new L material.

Don't suppose there's a full video rip of the whole concert out there somewhere (one file, non-youtube)?

Nope, not that's been made available yet anyway. The playlist contains all the footage broken into parts, it's the full show though. There's been talk of possibly upping it to YouTube as one continuous piece but other than that, no.

In honor of L's fortieth birthday today (and because I've been helpin' out for over ten years now I guess), his brother Donald "Don Ice" Phinazee, sent me free of charge, not one but two holy grails. One of them is the first tribute shirt made for L, given to friends, family members, and artists. Lord Finesse rocks it at tribute shows, A.G. is wearing his in the Holdin' It Down music video.

The other is this. People didn't believe me that this promo item even existed. DJ Mike Nice and Jewlz (L's childhood friend) confirmed its existence a few years back, I finally saw a picture of one earlier this year and now I have one of my own:

Ultimate props to Big Don for comin' through with the unexpected treats and shouts to The Champ for helpin' to make it happen.

I appreciate that L and Pun rhyme session, thanks. Anybody got flicks from this years memorial at 139th & Lenox? I was too busy with work to go down there.
