I was thinking about buying it after work today. Pretty solid?

I thought so, but I heard Donnie Brasco wasn't that good.

Don kills it but I was very underwhelmed with the beats. Some real boring shit. But don's dope enough to carry some half assed production.

agreed. not that they're bad but they are completely removed from the rawness of his earlier stuff. depends what kind of style you can tolerate really...'Do You Know' is the stand out track by a mile for me, and that's an older one from 96 anyway, I think

You won't hate the beats as much as Blockhead. Buy it.

Fair enough but they are kinda boring overall. Especially if compared to his "90's sessions" shit.
"Live and let die" is my shit though. It feels like he doesn't take a single breath that whole song.

I bought it but I still haven't opened it and I have the receipt. How does everyone compare it to Hazerdous? What would the ILLatino and The Last Dolphin think about it?

Open it, it's one of the great albums of the late 90's. If you like any godfather don material before this, you will like this. To me hazardous is more positive public enemy style, while this is more street. Being under the same label as screwball, he went with that type of darker style

Hmm... Hard to compare to Hazardous as they're stylistically quite different albums. Hazardous reminds me of Ultra and early Percee-P shit, Diabolique sounds more late 90's, darker, Scaramanga-esque.

Definitely worth copping if you don't own it.

Favourite track is 'Voices' with Kool "Kieth".

It was disappointing after the Cenobites LP and the superb 12"s like Piece Of The Action/Seeds Of Hate + Fame/The Bomb, Baby but it's worth having for the 5 good songs : No Competition (best song on there), Voices, Dip Dip Die, Kaos, and Pick Up The Mic.

One of the best Scaramanga verses.

90's session was Don in his prime, as both a producer and a rapper.

The whole cd is just tight especially when hip hop was starting to go down hill. Tracks-insane, big Katz, diabolique, kaos, pick up the mic, live and let die, dip dip die, properties of steel, voices, ain't no competition, do u know, y, ain't the same, connections, burn rmx

Just started listening to it today and I really like what I've heard so far. I'm only halfway through and I'm glad I bought it.

Godfather Don's type of production steez is so missed....like his tracks were so in between as far as their sound...he was a great vinyl hound...Diabolique is de. some of his better ish...
