Kwest The Madd Lad
What's The Reaction VLS..
The gem here is What's The Remix.
Enjoy if you don't have. One of those 90's joints that I jotted down back then on to my "Best of the 90's" mental rolodex. Whenever I decide to make my true best of the 90's mix, this song will be on there without a doubt.

Kwest was silly/ accessible, but not corny, never, well, not to me anyway, way too skilled on the mic to be a cornballThun wrote:Never knew Rubin exec-produced.
Kwest was always a pretty corny rapper, IMO.
Rubin started Def American and had an Exec credit on alot of the releases, including Baby Got Back !

I don't really remember him being hailed as the next big thing Echo, but from what I remember he had a decent underground buzz. I still have his 1st album on CD but haven't listened to it in awhile.
One reason I remember him is because he used to hang up at this college radio show near where I live back in 94: 90.3 FM New York at CCNY. This was on DJ Mecca's show, Mecca from 88 HipHop/Kevin Keith & The Dirty Dozen 105.9. He was like a co host for awhile.
He seemed to have that Pharcyde type of, make fun of myself, comedic but ordinary guy image, you get a sense of that from his album cover and lyrical content. I thought he had enough lyrical talent and imagination to stand out on his own, I like the song where he uses a vocal sample from Pete Rock's Soul Brother #1, plus the song he did with Shabaam Sahdeeq, Enimem & DJ Spinna in the late 90's.
