The Lox feature Notorious B.I.G. - "You'll See"

Post by thebridgeisover »

The never-dying "biggie - unreleased and unleashed promo from '95" thread got me thinking that I had never seen a nonmixtape/cut up version of this track.

As I mentioned in that thread, I had bought a weird nameless tagless cd of Biggie songs that included this in 1998 (I had never heard the track at the time). Since I didnt find it online anyway in its original form, thought Id post it here. Sounds like it was ripped from the promo vinyl. Here's a pic of the original cd.

Here's some info from the bad boy blog:
"The album wasnג€™t always "No Way Out". In perhaps itג€™s earliest stage, it was the "Puff Daddy and the Goodfellas" album. This would have seemed to be a collaborative album with the Goodfellas being Puffy, Biggie, Mase, The Lox, Black Rob and perhaps others. They actually put out a rare promotional vinyl release of "Canג€™t Nobody Hold Me Down" by Puff Daddy and Mase. Not Puff Daddy featuring Mase, but Puff Daddy and Mase. It also features "Youג€™ll See" by The Lox featuring The Notorious B.I.G. See the image below."

I've been looking for that 12" since I first heard it on the Bad Boy mixtape Vol 3 in 96! still never found a copy which given how common most Bad Boy 12s are make me think this pressing is pretty limited.
Even the tape I had of Tim Westwood playing it had a bit of Stretch Armstrong talking over the track.

A few years ago I finally got a decent untagged MP3 - I think it was on one of Brandan @ Recognize The Real's comps

Anyway, great track. Puffy loves using that 'Youre A Customer' beat - think its on at least 3 tracks of his.

Thanks! I hope I never came across that 12" and didn't look closely thinking it was the regular promo..

Do you know what's on the b-side?

while we're on a Bad Boy 12" tip ( :pause: :pause: :pause: :pause: ) does anyone know if there was a promo for Black Rob 'Can I Live' ?

I've been looking for the instrumental for a while - the only thing online is a shitty 3 minute loop (which isnt looped properly).
Pretty sure a full instrumental exists as Flex used it on that Jay Z 'Dear Summer' freestyle a few years back.

Google search yielded these:

and

http://badboynation.blogspot.com/2009/0 ... -vol1.html

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FAHUAR80

For anyone who wants the shitty looped one for whatever reason (which I'm guessing these both are). Didn't see any mention of a promo, not that that means anything.

Even though its the "Dear Summer" lyrics, always live how it flowed over this beat.

never really liked the Dear Summer beat to be honest. That version live on Flex (I think that was when he debuted the verse) is dope though. Probably the last thing Jay did that I really liked.

If I remember right before that Peedi & Bleek had been rhyming over Amerie '1 Thing' which was pretty good aswell. Probably still got that somewhere.

Come on, as much as I dislike most "Commercial" type Hiphop/Rap shit, Jay-Z has still done some doap shit over the last how many years.
"Wicked = Genuinely loves Hiphop and respects it because he grew up during the time when it wasn't full of southern mongoloids and Lil Wayne rappers. From his mixes you can tell he knows his shit. The problem is, when you are a smart dude preaching to a bunch of fucking morons, you end up getting singled out as the douche."
