Starting this thread for fans of The Halftime Show WNYU 89.1 (wednesday nights 10:30pm - 1am),
which started in March 1998 and still running. www.myspace.com/halftime

The Original line-up began with DJ Eclipse, DJ Riz and Lyn Gonzales,
current line-up DJ Eclipse, DJ Skizz, Petey Cologne, and Marz One

As with all past radio shows, all I gots is pause tapes equaling quarter shows at best. I'd love to hear the one with Godfather Don musing on his beloved "trucks"

and freestyling in between...

I've got a funny phone call session from WNYU around 97, Mayhem & Sunset diss a bunch of callers in a row in an amateur MC competition. I'll digitize & upload that sometime this week. Other than that I've got freestyles here & there on cassette still like this hilarious one by ODB:

That's the very one. I got the talk in between as well. Three of them were hilarious kickin it about scoping out the mamis on the street, oooweeee!

Freestyle was ill too, of course.

Here's a funny interview with Eclipse and New York graf artist "Ja", I'm sure if Eclipse comes on this board and hears this he'll remember this night. If you're from NYC and are familiar with Ja's work let me know, I went to high school at the graffiti hall of fame in East Harlem.

I remember hearing some of the Half-A-Mil joints on this show like 'Fast Money & Foreign Objects', 'Me & Cream', a joint with some dudes named Do Dirty & Problem Child, I think the 'Make It Hot' w/ Dominator was played on this show also from the '95 era. I know he made appearances too. I hope these finally turn up with decent quality. I have some of them but the quality is total total ass.

There's also a demo called "In the Projects" there, but we don't have "Me and Cream". I'm sure once I hear it I'll remember it but maybe not. I was rarely ever able to get a great radio signal from WNYU back in the day but I still tried to listen just for the Natural Elements and Half A Mill demos, promos, and freestyles. They had some exclusives for sure.

Do Dirty is a name that I remember but I can't place it.

Are these seperated anywhere, or do you have dates from when these were broadcast?

craig - i usually include the dates on the shows if i have them,
halftime did a lot of specialty nights throughout the years
gonna try get some up here soon
