H20 stuff?
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

I d love to have a limited release with songs recorded after that single.
Call me crazy, but I prefer DJ Nastee and their own production over the SD's. Also on that single and the promo with the Isley's sample you put up they seem to rhyme a little bit different + better. Member changes within the group?

pz

looking forward to the DJ Nastee demos...

They produced Ghetto Diamond, right? That's one of the best beats on the lp, has a Pete Rock-ish vibe, or maybe I think that just because it's a nice beat. Who rhymes on Ghetto Diamond, there's a third guy, right? Or maybe I'm wrong. The SD50s beats were great though, also.

Nastee did at least the remix:
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-KpsINJYRFU?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-KpsINJYRFU?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
not positive if he did the og.

He's got mad joints.

Shit gets confusing with the H2O stuff he told me about.

Taste from H2O made a group with his brother Math and did a 12 track demo LP thats supposedly really ill. Math and Nastee actually did that "If Its On Like That c'Mon" demo thats on youtube, originally ripped by Digital stimulation. The sound quality is awful though. Hopefully we will be hearing that soon in much higher quality.

I think they did do the OG track, but I may be wrong on that. Demos sound dope.

Onyx during their promo run for Bacadafucup in '93, they speak uncut about the ghetto and then get wild for the camera during the end of the interview.

lol @ $12 USD per CDS

Might as well go get the OG CD's for that price.

I downloaded around 450 CDS off there before it went down. I saved myself over 4g's...

And just a heads up for anyone that is thinking of paying for rips. I'm finding that most of the mp3's in his CDS are corrupt files with invalid audio data so don't waste your money.

not sure who in their right mind would pay more for a rip than the physical cd. at any rate, i think all those rips are just retagged stuff that's been posted on here before. i queued up up that entire blog when it was up and realized after unzipping a few that they were stuff i had already. pops in same places as rips i had I.E. 2 face-nyc.

Here's all 24 hours of audio from WBAI's 2012 Hip Hop Takeover, you can sit back and stream the whole thing using the Yahoo Media Player and right-click/download on each link. I'm still listening to the whole event as I type, so far there's been some very nice breakbeat sets in the great tradition of The Underground Railroad Show.

To atlantis (and all other Chi-Town residents of Flava), go get yourselves some free records at a store in Edgewater who's giving a bunch away since yesterday, hopefully it's not too hot to dig and haul a bunch away:

A Chicago radio station recently sold their large collection to the store Dusty Groove, so be on the look out for that collection as well

thanks for the heads up. checked out the place, it was mostly typical thrift store stype stuff. lots of rock. lots of old children's records, classical, country, etc. i found one hip hop record, it was an mc shan 12" that was jacked up. there was some soul there, but typical stuff you'd find in the bargain bins - dionne wawrick, shalamar, commodores. etc. good looking out.

Interview: Elai Tubo

Post by Jaz »

http://othersounds.com/archives/1137

When you are name dropped on one of the most iconic Hip Hop albums of the 80ג€™s, it can forever change your career. Elai Tubo was given a shout out by Eric B & Rakim on their 1987 song ג€Paid In Fullג€ for his engineering skills. Something he is remembered for even to this day.

Elai Tubo came up as a DJ in the Queens club scene and later hosted a show on WBLS. Eventually Tubo got into the production side of the music business and worked with some of the most important people in Hip Hop from Run DMC, Eric B & Rakim to Dr Dre...
