1628 Factor - The Factor (1996 Demo, Bay Area/Redwood City)

Post by Odnet »

Finally got around to recording one of my brother and his friends' old demo tapes. This is from 1996 and recorded entirely on a four-track, so don't expect the best sound quality. I think you guys will enjoy this one. Some raw mid-nineties hip-hop by some Redwood City teenagers:

If anyone is feeling this shit, there are some other tapes (even some from before 96) I need to get around to recording. Hope some of you are down.

I'm glad you like this stuff. Thanks for posting those on YouTube. I was going to put some up eventually, but you saved me the trouble.

The next one I'm going to do is a Brewmasta tape from around 1994 or so. Hopefully will be able to get that one done soon.

Well, Spexxx is my brother so I'm down with whatever he's doing. I make beats and DJ, but don't really record anything. I have a bunch of beats that might get used some day if I ever finish them, I guess. Haha.

Thanks for being down with the music, though...for real. I grew up listening to these tapes so it's cool to see people from around the world feeling them years later.

Yo does Juan Kanobi now go by "Irie Juan Kanobi?"

If so I think he kicks it with a bunch of my friends in the dubstep scene...

No, different guy. JuanKanobi actually died in 1998 if I remember the year correctly.
