Omniscence - The God Hour 2xCD / t-shirts

Post by Debonair_P »

Hey fellas,

Pretty rare that I create a post to plug my own material - but I figured this may be of interest to more than the couple of people who read the vinyl thread... I produced and mixed the first new release entitled ('Raw Factor 2.0') from Omniscence in 16 years (since the 'Touch Y'all' single on EastWest way back in 1996.) You can listen to the snippets of both the original and remix versions of the track below...

http://soundcloud.com/debonair-p/omniscence-raw-factor-2-0

I hope you dig it - the single is also available on 7" wax and as a digital single. Before you ask, I'll see what I can do about getting some of the unreleased material available at long last too...

wow, awesome treat. i wasn't especially impressed by raw factor-mainly cause of the beats if i remember correctly, but these snippets are dope. the beat at the 2:50 mark sounds like o.c. far from yours. it's two total tracks on the vinyl, right?

sorry, didn't mean far from yours, meant the intro track on jewelz.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! Yes you're right, 2 tracks on the vinyl (original mix + remix), the digital single also includes the instrumental versions. All wax orders come with a free copy of the digital.

That's my kind of sound right there.

That shit sounds dope. I'm feeling it. I usually just skip these posts on forums because they almost always don't sound good. This bumps.

Holy fucking shit... this made my day. I've been an Omniscence stan for years and the singles he dropped are genuinely amongst my favorite tracks of all time.

Has this got anything to do with the "Raw factor 2" album which he said he was recording?

On a side note - I swapped a few emails with James DL from No Sleep records a while ago and told him he should try to release The raw factor with Omniscence. He said he would love to do something like that but had no contact. You should help to make that happen!

Copped the double pack....

Dope as usual. You've established your own style already, i realize it's only been 1.5 year since the remixes LP dropped (still banging my head against every wall available for letting that pass 'cause of expensive shipping) but it feels like forever. Well done mister.

On another note, i'm glad you've taken over your shit's distribution as well, just about the time i got really pissed at some labels of this ltd game for making a habit out of ripping us off - using preorders to fund their summer vacation etc. NO preorders by me from now on, fuck it.

You do what you do H, we support.

Thanks for the good words Architek. I agree, there is so many labels doing these releases now that it is kinda rare that stuff sells out on the pre-order - I thought it would make a nice change to announce this release at the same time I was ready to ship. Although I can post 7"s fairly cheap overseas, Australia's post charges for 12"s is even worse than it was when I released the Remixes LP last year - postage for a single 12" is $23 or something now! So I will get outside assistance for 12" releases because it gets too expensive otherwise.

Thanks again.

Hey Wicked - thanks for the great feedback and enjoy the wax, I definitely appreciate the purchase!

Kartman, I hear you - I don't think there is a massive CD market for the stuff I do. Also, I don't have a massive attachment to CD's (as I do with vinyl) which means I'm not so keen on manufacturing them... however, I have been reading about Amazon's Music on Demand (basically where they print the CD's as people order them) and may consider offering future releases through there. Would mean the music is available on CD for those who want it and I wouldn't need to spend time shipping them out. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks!

Word, brilliant news that this will finally be available cheap.

Also, I'm now 2 copies away from being sold out of the new single on wax, thanks again to those who copped! It's also on iTunes now for anyone who buys their music there.

i need to pick up that "Funky Oneliner EP" ASAP; any word on how limited it iactually s?

nnow that "Funky" EP is finally given an official release, and Om has a new project in the works, it's quite likely that we might finally be able to get our hands on the original "Raw Factor" which would be absolutely terrific..

Yo Debonair_P... I got my records in the mail last week, and had the digital on repeat on my iopd. Love both versions.

Any chance you could tell us how this came about? How did you link up with Omniscence?

Hey thanks for letting me know the records arrived so quick, really glad you're enjoying them and thanks very much again for the purchase!

Not much of a story really, I came up with the beat (for the original mix) and thought he would sound good over it so I tracked him down - I think the record was being pressed within a month of first making the beat so it all came together real smooth. Hopefully we will have a longer release next year... Thanks again!
