Listening to an old Stretch and Bob show from 1992 and I noticed that the hook is a cut of Main Source's "Fakin' The Funk"...was this just Stretch adding this on the show or does a different version exist?

That version is from the "That's When Ya Lost" single. Never understood why it was changed for the LP.
