Tracks you would kill someone to get a decent recording of

Post by night_shade »

So, if the god of Hip Hop suddenly revealed himself and said you could have a quality remastered recording of whatever obscure golden era joints you wanted, what would be on your list? I know there's something to be said for lo-fi recordings, but let's forget about that for a second.

These would be my top requests:

Man, I would do just about anything for a cleaned up version of that Bridge 94 track.

Also, I've always thought the Showbiz remix of Sally Got a One Track Mind could use some cleaning up.

Up until recently I wouldve said the remix of Niggaz Dont Give A Fuck but thats been sorted now. The main 2 that come to mind are:

Charlie Brown (LONS) 'Whatcha Gonna Do For Me' (1995) - only heard Westwood play this once.

The Game 'Duck Down' (2003/04) - can only find this tagged and/or in shitty quality

I thought I had it but it turns out I don't anymore sorry, it might not be a Pete Rock remix but he played it on a Future Flavors show and it sounded like his production.

^Hadn't heard that remix. Dope indeed.

Love that J Treds joint too.

Would love a quality release of Greenbacks, but the current tape rip is pretty listenable.

There have been a lot over the years but the only one I still care about is an uncensored Firm Biz remix.

The ones Architek mentioned and a couple diggy64 mentioned. ANd that GFD Pull The Trigger And Step one. Most of all, everything off the Godfather Don produced Scaramanga demo, including 36 Grams, which i do have somewhere in awful quality.

Also always wanted to have the full version of this(and the full demo tape) in top quality:
