Wdap yall! This is official thread "Question". If you wanna afk for somethin - here's the place
I got short question about Warren G second album " Take A Look Over Your Shoulder (Reality)". Im holdin my hands right now on this album, i got two cassetes versions. One released in US and one released in EU. Besides they both got diffrent cover, tracklist looks diffrent too (by the way Canadian version its diffrent to this both 19 tracks + )

Europe version looks like (18 tracks)

A1 Intro
A2 Annie Mae
A3 Smokin' Me Out
A4 Reverend Eazy Dick
A5 Reality
A6 Interlude
A7 Young Fun
A8 What We Go Through
A9 We Brings Heat
B1 Can You Feel It
B2 Transformers
B3 Reel Thing (Intro)
B4 Relax Ya Mind
B5 To All D.J,'s
B6 Back Up
B7 What's Love Got To Do With It
B8 I Shot The Sheriff
B9 What's Love Got To Do With It (Remix)

US version (17 tracks)

A1 Star Trek Intro
A2 Annie Mae
A3 Smokin' Me Out
A4 Ricky In Church
A5 Reality
A6 Ricky & G-Child
A7 Young Fun
A8 What We Go Through
A9 We Brings Heat
B1 Transformers
B2 Reel Tight Intro
B3 Relax Ya Mind
B4 To All D.J,'s
B5 Back Up
B6 Can You Feel It
B7 I Shot The Sheriff
B8 I Shot The Sheriff (EPMD Remix)

Anyone can tell why they changed so many things on that album ? Why labels delete some and add some ? Thats becuase they wanna add some 'b-side' shit or ? :

If it's not due to legal issues I think plenty of media firms look to tailor releases for a local market. They get it badly wrong a lot of the time. They also release extremely hard to find versions of films and music in Japan or other foreign markets and there isn't much logic or sense to how they work.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Im look at my collection of vinyls and i cant find anything from Phoenix, AZ. Can anyone introduce me to this area ? Im found crew wit members: Contractor Bo Duren, Jimmy Jam Lipston, Ken Sir Rap-A-Lot, Sheldon Davis who created group named Juice Technology. They relesased two 12' in 1985, thats the electro flavour.
Another group is THC. They did one album in 1996 and that was promoted by single "The Phoenix Phunx". Im not sure if they all from Phoenix... maybe thats Chandler, AZ.
And thats all what i can find in web, on my vinyl collection i got nothin for that area. Please tell me what's up

Nutmeg, a female rapper who released an album in 95, was from Phoenix. The album featured Kool G Rap who moved to Phoenix where he recorded his "Roots of Evil" album. Then there was a group called Mayhemm who released the album "Global Mayhemm" in '97. DJ Z-Trip's also from Phoenix, if I'm not mistaken. And short time G-Unit member Young Hot Rod and Juice, a rapper who was signed to Game's Black Wall Street label, are from there too. Plus, Willy Northpole, who was down with Disturbing Tha Peace around 2008/2009.

Empty Pockets was a group from Arizona (pretty sure) who released a really nice album Letters From the Field: http://arealdope.blogspot.com.au/2010/0 ... field.html

The album is CD-only but the 12"s are worth picking up.

Yeah I think it's just the label Vestry who was in NY... More on a west-coast vibe, but another artist worth checking is Mr Iroc - his album 'Finally on the Map' has some good songs.

Anyone knows artists/groups/music/albums similar to the fugees?

I always loved the carribean vibe the score had (with fu-gee-la being the best track), never heard anything similar to that.

PS that first Vontel album is fake... It was never released and the rip I got is made of different tracks from various artists (e.g. Kingpin Skinny Pimp) that's been renamed to look like a legit rip.

Info I found on rapvault:
BartMarley wrote:By talking with Vontel manager last year to purchase some of maxis he told me that true 2 life DON'T EXIST, songs produced back in da days were put on VISION OF A DREAM ALBUM and remixed, LOUGIN TRACK was supposed to promote TRU 2 LIFE but because of label issues rights were lost! Video has been put on a japanese dvd to promote VISION OF A DREAM REPRESS, But i think some tapes and vinyls were pressed for promotional use but including non mixed and non battlecat beats of vision of a dream tracks... BUT for all Vontel fans some maxis (cd & vinyls) were pressed including "dream no more" and "ghetto life" remixes, unfortinately no Battlecat in those remixes

the version on Laid in Full doesn't appear to be the remix. since eclipse did the mix it might have been a white label or something extremely limited that only a few people had.

no need to apologize, i looked for it when he initially had posted and all i could find were mixed versions. in fact, i think the only version i was found was on the indy day mix. that might be a question to tweet eclipse about.

He was already on the run during the recording of "4, 5, 6". Try to check for some interviews of T-Ray about this, he explained pretty much everything... Had to hide in weird places, G Rap on some paranoïd type shit... It's pretty awesome he could still put out a pretty good album under these circumstances.
