question about Offliberty/ soundcloud downloading

Sorry this isnt exactly material for this forum but I heard about offliberty.com here so I'm hoping one of yall can help me out. I used to use offlibery to download soundcloud clips that dont have a direct download already embeded in them but it doesnt seem to work anymore. Anyone have any other suggestions to something like offliberty to download soundcloud clips?

I've been using

SoundCloud Downloader - Technowise 0.73

and it's been pretty good to me. It's an add-on/plug-in for Firefox.

i was having problems with soundcloud in general a few days ago. I wouldn't be surprised if offliberty starts working again soon.

Offliberty still works on Mixcloud.

If you have Chrome (and a machine with curl available):

Open the dev tools - swap to the network panel - either filter by extension or order by size.

Right click on the entry you are looking for , should be an option in the list to copy as curl.

Use your terminal or command line, navigate to somewhere you want to save the file to, and paste that shit in there, pop the -O flag at the end and it'll save the file with the original name to the location your terminal/command prompt is pointed at.

I use it frequently on soundcloud (where there's no download option or the download option goes to a pay gate), mixcrate, and mixcloud. Should work for most, if not all, sites that stream stuff in a non flash format.

AFAIK Soundcloud transcodes to 128k for anything that gets streamed - so yeah.

Personally, I only do it for tracks that don't have a download option - since the download link is a copy of the original file that was uploaded where the quality stays untouched.

Haven't tried any of the "downloaders" or what not, but I'd suspect they can only get the streaming version as well?
