Best Albums From '95

:killacam: :gooden: Have you ever listened some other LPs from 1995? Or do you stick only to the average unreleased Kamakaze LP?
No beef, just asking...

To say Kamakaze for sure in top 20 it's a silly ( it's has only 3 or 4 good tracks the rest are just so-so ).... may be if only has been released at that time.

1995 was a good year, as much as I like Kamakaze (especially years later it's nice to hear an unreleased quality album from way back), he doesn't make my 1995 all time top 20. He will make the 1995 top 20 of most played 1995 albums in this year though :)

Some other good 1995 (West Coast) releases:

Jemini the Gifted One EP
Brotha Lynch Hung (top 20)
Goodie Mob (top 20)
W.C.-Curb Servin
2Pac
Mack 10
South Circle
Walking Large
Aceyalone
DJ Quik (top 20)
Mr Doctor
The Click
Luniz
RBX
Jt The Bigga Figga
Kausion (maybe top 50, thanks to GTA5)
Ray Luv
Too Short
Rappin' Ron & Ant Diddley Dog
Funkdoobiest
C-Bo-Tales-from the Crypt

"Unreleased"

Sam Sneed - Street Scholars (quality shitty though, for a taste check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evM5RBkudEg )
Mista Grimm

I guess naming a song "Dirty south" wasn't enough for you to know their location lol

These are '96.

I know including EPs opens a whole new can of worms but good call. I might've thought of Cenobites before Jemini but Scars and Pain was originally meant to be a full LP after all.

EPs:

The Beastie Boys – Root Down
Big Willie Smith / Da Beat Terrorists – Big Willie Smith
The Cenubites – The Cenubites
Concrete Click – Lyrical Terrorism
1st Down – A Day Wit' the Homies
Harleckinz – From the Levels Below
Jemini the Gifted One – Scars and Pain
Pauly Yams & DJ Jazz – When I Blow Up
People Without Shoes - Assassins

What's the list of shelved / unreleased albums recorded in '95 look like now? I've got...

Unreleased:

Agallah (8-Off) - Wrap Your Lips Around This
Asphalt Legion - Straight From the Asphalt
Bored Stiff – Explainin'
Deda (& Pete Rock) - The Original Baby Pa
Dilated Peoples - Imagery, Battle Hymns & Political Poetry
DJ Battlecat Presents... - Gumbo Roots
Ganjah K - Harvest For the World
InI (& Pete Rock) - Center of Attention
Kamakazee (KL & Solo of Screwball) - Head On
Lastrawze - Instrawmental
Mista Grimm - Things Are Looking Grimm
Omniscense - The Raw Factor
Prince Paul Presents...Horror City - Horror City
Supernatural - Natural Disasters

And one thing's for sure, '95 loved the letter “n”. Whether capitalized or lower case, surrounded by hyphens, quotes, other letters or simply on its own, “N” was everywhere that year, mostly as a way to reduce the word “and” to a single character. And that's just looking at the names of groups with debut LPs recorded that year, like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, InI or Smif-n-Wessun (and also albums like Bad-N-Fluenz, Live n Direct, Lyfe 'n' Tyme, or Runnin-N-Gunnin). I'm not gonna even begin to think about song titles.

95 was the last great year overall. 96 was pretty good, then it just started getting progressively worse. Both on the so called commercial and underground level. At least for me.

need to step my '95 game up, don't think I've heard any of these.

edit, managed to check nearly all this out on youtube now.
that Fo' Clipse Eclipse album is excellent, not sure why I've never heard it. also read that he got shot dead on the day of its release :ohsh:

My head is racked with memories of Hip Hop from this year, it's hard to put into a list but m first that come to mind are ODB's debut, "All We Got Iz Us" by Onyx, "4,5,6" by Kool G Rap. I like listening to mixes or radio tape rips to reminisce on best albums from this year and others.

Might as well bump this thread, given all the twentieth anniversary celebration type posts online.
