Obscure Rap-A-Lot Albums?

Post by PopsUK »

I've always liked some of the obvious Rap-A-Lot releases - Geto Boys, Devin, Scarface, Z-Ro, etc - but I know there are a ton of more obscure releases on the label. I've had the Tim Smooth album for a while, and recently picked up the Blac Monks debut, and Bone Hard Zaggin by Big Melo - both of which are great.

There must be some experts here... what are other good, lesser-known, Rap-A-Lot releases?

this seems like a better question for TROY, where it might've actually already been asked and answered

It's pretty polarizing, but I absolutely adore Poppa LQ's "Your Entertainment, My Reality." It was on "Rap-a-Lot West," and sounds exactly what you would hope something on the Rap-A-Lot West would sound like. "South Central Soldier" is one of my favorite rap songs of all time.

Thanks very much guys. I have the Big Mike, Facemob, Gangsta NIP, Seagram, and OG Style... and just ordered the Wegonefunkwichamind CD for cheap.

I don't have the others mentioned though - Poppa LQ, Convicts, 3-2, DMG, Menace Clan, Royal Flush, Raheem, Do or Die, 5th Ward. Anyone know of any good blogs where there are rips online?... the OOP CD prices are insane.

I'll try the requests thread too. Thanks again.

One of my favorite lines ever is from the song "Fuck the Media" on this album:

"Ask why I rap about violence and not peace / Ho, get out my face before I burn you with some hot grease."
