Capital Rap Show / LA Gear Rap Exchange 29th July 1989 with Marley Marl

https://djstepone.blogspot.com/2020/03/ ... hange.html
Lets take it back to the hot summer of 1989. Sat July 29th to be precise. Westwood had the best Hip Hop radio show in London on Capital Radio & Marley had the best Hip Hop radio show in NYC on WBLS.
Also Marley was THE best producer in Hip Hop at that time. This was the first of 4 rap exchanges which would see the 2 DJ's come together and record some classic Hip hop radio live from NYC. Most of us in London never got to hear Marley Marls legendary "In Control" radio show, so for us this was heaven. Marley's dropping exclusives upon exclusives as well as a dope never heard before freestyle with Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Tragedy and Mc Shan. Kane goes in hard and makes MC Shan look pretty terrible.

Capital Rap Show 26th August 1989 with Marley Marl, Tragedy & Fat Boys

https://www.mixcloud.com/DJNes4000/tim- ... g-26-1989/
Mixing it up with some old school Tim Westwood/Marley Marl Rap exchange. This one features a young Tragedy (as Intelligent Hoodlum), and a pre recorded studio appearance by The Fat Boys. Got this one through a guy named Dave in Essex while doing the Dirty Waters Blog. Cool to hear the '89 sounds, never knew Marley linked with Prince back then. Marley loosens up and starts doubling up around the 30 minute mark.
think this show first appeared online on the old Fat Lace site

26th August 1994 with Tim Dog

https://www.mixcloud.com/DJMKTAPERIPS/w ... ial-guest/
Classic Capital Rap Show recorded Aug 26th 1994, 2 days before the Nottinghill Carnival. Westwood announces that Wu Tang are gonna be special guests on the Carnival Monday.
J the Sultan talks about the upcoming DND album project and their 40's and blunts party. Westwood playing bangers as well as dropping the unreleased Ron G - Raekwon, KRS 1, and Biggie Smalls track as well as the unreleased Funkmode with Extra P & Havoc. Even in 1994 the Hip Hop scene in London was still pretty small and you can hear Westwood bigging up local jams from other djs such as Rodigan, 279 etc.

Westwood – 19 October 1996 FULL 3 HOUR SHOW Feat DJ Riz & Aaliyah in the 1FM Rap Show Studio [REMASTERED]
Fantastic that the full show has been unearthed... thanks so much!

The big question is: do you/does anyone have the full recording of the night before's show, Friday 18th Oct, where Riz was on more of an underground tip? There has been 90 minutes of it up on Step One's page for a few years, but it's the first and last 45 minutes. The middle 90 minutes is missing.....

Anyone?
