GP Wu`s "Don`t Go Against The Grain"...

Post by HeRBaN LyRiX »

Always felt that this joint was overlooked, even though it`s a pretty solid listen (my opinion of course). Producer Down Low Recka handled the bulk of the production on this album with 8 tracks. Visible & June Luva did 1 track each, while RNS tackled the 4 remaining tracks. Some folks may know of RNS from his production work with the UMC`s before he started working with the Gravediggaz & Shyheim. It`s been said that RZA actually borrowed RNS`s sampler, the infamous Ensoniq EPS, to complete the production on Wu-Tang Clan`s debut album. If that is the truth, THANK YOU VERY MUCH RNS! My ears truly appreciated that!!!

Black On Black Crime is a bona fide Wu classic.

Agreed but having the clean version on here sucks. Anyone have a CDQ dirty version?

I don't think it exists on CD as far as I know, but I can do the next best thing for you Breeze. If you send me the clean album version in lossless (preferrably WAV format, if not then FLAC) and the dirty version from the vinyl then I can make one by splicing in the missing words. The dirty vinyl rip can be mp3 since I'll only be using certain words, but if someone has the record and can send it in FLAC or WAV, that would be ideal.

Didn`t even know that there was a dirty version, just thought that`s how the track was for whatever reason. Totally agree tho, the censorship blows! Not sure what the point of it being like that was...
