De La Soul Is Dead is still my favorite album to this day.

An even harder question would be what my favorite song is on the album.

Probably "Pass The Peas" , with "Fanatic of the B Word" a close second.

Image...hands down that was De La's Fuck You album to the critics and all those calling them hippie rap and shit...It is STILL light years ahead of it's time , in terms of delivery and production I mean who the fick ever fucked with that "we b-b-b-ring the peace of course but p-p-pack the knowlege inside our De La drawers"..every track was ill even the house music diss...so many classic joints on that album.."Oodles Of O" was my joint and one of my favourites of all time as is this whole album.

Plus Shortie No Mass was on of the Bitties In The BK lounge right?

Plus Just Jeff was ill too...I met DLS when they toured with this album in fact Mase-O (what goes on?) spent over 4 hours on the 1 's and 2's when he came up to my show and they also gave some Wellington street kids a beatdown for giving them the middle fingers while they were chilling in their van munching on KFC.

I'm the only one who picked BMS. There's no way I could explain why I like it over Is Dead but I do. It's up there in my top two or three. Constant rotation.

De La Soul is Dead, although Buhloone Mind State gets extra points for featuring Scha Dara Parr on "Long Island Wildin'".

"..Is dead"
has far too much filler on it

Back in the day when we'd rock the tape version
in the whip
that shit was a major pain in the ass to listen to
had to be fast fowardin' thru pointless and corny skits every other song

So..
"buhloone mind state"
it is

Plus
"buhloone.." had the "area" joint
my favorite De La track
utilizing the Spoonie Gee/Treacherous 3 "new rap language" sample
which is definately a plus in my book
