3rd Bass - Cactus Album (with MF Doom!)

Post by wuk »

i've owned this cd forever, probably hadn't listened since 1996 or something, but damn i just pulled it out and was stunned to hear doom (zev love x) on it. maybe because i was never into kmd back in the day. his voice was gruff as hell but he had that old school flow. that shit came out in 1989! doom has mad longevity.

aybody remember the video for "the gas face"? I remember this on YO! MTV Raps back in the day. i also remember "peachfuzz" video for KMD. I loved KMD as a kid. DOOM<KMD!!!! I had cassettes for both these.

This was Doom's first ever appearance.

Everyone who appreciates hip hop from that era needs to own both 3rd Bass albums and I'd also recommend the remix EP they put out.

This is worth tracking down for the Marley Marl remix of Products of the Environment alone.....
Is this hiphop? Hell no, this is war.
I've been trying to tell you that since How About Some Hardcore.

The way that the Cactus Album jumps off with "Sons of 3rd Bass" is just a straight-up classic.
