a goodie for the lord finesse/percee p fans

a friendly rhyme battle recorded via one of those radios that had the mic built in and then ripped eventually via tape cassette to computer - i believe only a handful of people have this, i got it from a girl i met online from canada whose boy was some dj or something and knew percee p

this is circa 89

it's obviously very poor audio quality - you hear ice cream trucks/kids playing/car horns in the background as well...

but man is it raw

yes you are right, there is video footage of this battle in the hip hopera called "south bronx" (SBX) or something like that. we almost got that movie for our school, but decided on a couple other ones instead. that would have have sick to watch though.

yeah this was on the movie SBX, and they did a mock version of the battle in present time, which was still dope.

I met percee P a few weeks back and I told him I had first heard him rhyme from an mp3 version of this battle. He was a really cool guy, and he seemed impressed that I knew about the battle somehow (maybe because I had heard it on the internet?). haha he was trying to sell me a copy of that SBX movie, too.
