park jams / dj battles audio
does anyone have any audio from the park jams and dj battles from the 70s? i know this is a longshot, but the art form gained notoriety through dub tapes, so i'm assuming there's a minute possibility of some of these recordings floating around still.
it would really add a nice element to my hip hop history presentation.
if you have any audio of old battles (such as the finesse percee p one that was posted recently) that would be stellar.

I'm trying to get some of the old park jams from the man who provides me records he has shit from like mufuckin' 79' (on 8-track(!!!)) up to like 95' ...I'm trying to to get some from him but that shit is like pulling teeth...the closest things I have are the New Music Seminar DJ Battles.......curiouscharles wrote:does anyone have any audio from the park jams and dj battles from the 70s? i know this is a longshot, but the art form gained notoriety through dub tapes, so i'm assuming there's a minute possibility of some of these recordings floating around still.

hrmm, i used to convert tapes to mp3 using the line out on my cd player, i'm pretty sur eit's possible, it would be a bit of effort though, and i definitely don't expect thatI Drive A Lexus wrote:Tapes..
no.
but someone here will surely have a copy of "death mix" they can convert to mp3.
I think there was a site that had some old Furious Five/Coldcrush/Treacherous 3/Funky 4 + 1 etc tapes for sale
but i can't remember the address.
here's a site which could give you some shit for your presentation
