one of the best albums of the 90's and the most slept on

Reminisce about the golden era of hip-hop.

Stunts Blunts And Hip Hop, yo That's That Shit. Unfortunately this album is rap's Best Kept Secret.

I always felt that album shot had a real dramatic effect like it was 3D or some shit.

I see it mentioned often and I have never seen it around, and I can't find it to download. Who would like to hook me up?

Classic and it's funny Phila, I did my radio show last night and played the title track AND Check One Two... ...you know even "Confused" wasn't that bad, but oh man the production on that album is just timeless, not to mention I was always a fan of Diamond's laidback rhyme style...I love this album to death and am pleased I have it on CD and a few 12''s as well.

nope i like confused as well...the only weak song on the record is the posse cut 'pass dat shit'

this album is a borderline top ten all time for me

the album ending four song sequence of

freestyle
ki.s.s.
title track
feel the vibe

is as good a sequence as youll ever hear

i do agree its slept on...hell a lot of people dont even have it in their top 3 ditc albums...i for one think its far superior to say runaway slave or big l

Fat Joe's on that one right? It's crazy how much he's improved since then.

"Fuck what you heard", "check 1-2", "outta here"and "what you seek" are my joints
not too sure if it's that slept on
in that issue of The Source where they went back and awarded albums 5 mics that they'd neglected originally this was mentioned alongside "stress..", "midnight marauders" and a couple of others as albums that were close but had no cigar hangin' outta their moufbox
but yeah..yer average trucker-hat rockin', Sage and Atmosphere listenin' snotnosed newjack faggot has prolly never even heard of this.

you know, this album is no-doubt top-tier production wise, but Diamond was a lil weak on the mic, I always thought he was better off letting other cats rip it up like Sadat, and them. "I catch you out right there like Rick Cerrone" This is a great album though, never heard the follow-up, izzat decent or what?

A couple years ago I bought it from sandbox (it was a re-press obviously) and listened to it. Really good album... until I noticed the major warping the record had... so I sent it back hoping to get another one... out of stock.

Great album.

Ran through the Bronx just like Paul Newman.

Diamond took a blues break, and he broke it.

Somewhere on this site I have given my thoughts on this classic..

I actually read through this thread waiting for the inevitable person to type :

"I actually liked Hatreds, Passions, and Infidelity better".

I catch you out right there like Rick Cerrone

anyone can throw thurmon munson or yogi berra up in the piece but when you drop rick cerrone you gets repspect

i love that line...and i love diamonds mc'ing on the album

i suggest everyone revisit 'hatred'...its a very good album that is much better today than it was when it came out

'flowin' is amazing

^ "MC Iz My Ambition" and "The Hiatus" are really good too. I can't remember the rest that well, but I think he tried to get a little too smoothed out with "Cream 'N Sunshine."

I went to a record store when I lived in Chicago and a guy was hockin records out front to raise money for a court date. I bought 'Fuck What U Heard" "Best Kept Secret" and doubles of "Distortion To Static" for $10. I love that to this day.

Diamond gets RAW on that shit! Love that joint.

But yes, Stunts... is not appreciated by ANY newjacks, it seems.

Hatred sounds A LOT better than it did when it came out.

I didn't even know this was slept on. Cats must know this. "K.I.S.S" is a hip hop classic.

"Passion, Hatred & Infidelity" is slept on.
