word - very glad I have that in my collection...

I feel like their first album is even more slept upon... but that's definitely a gem... definitely their best album start to finish...

"Kill My Landlord" is strong, and just as slept on as this but I feel this is the stronger album out of the two.

"Takin These" is one of the dopest songs of all time. Coup is amazing, this is the album that really got me to pay attention. I love "Steal This Album" as well.. "Party Music" was good, but I think they can do better, if they ever put any album out again-- anybody know if they are working on anything? I heard somewhere that every time they finish an album, boots says hes done with Coup to focus on political organizing

pretty sure that Boots was working on a solo album, but I thought it was on 75 ark and their site seems to be down... for all I know they folded they haven't done shit in forever... I don't know what the deal is, but something is definitely in the works

"The street-light reflects off the piss on the ground
which relfects off the hamburger sign that turns round
which reflects off the chrome of the BMW
which reflects off the fact that I'm broke, now what the fuck is new?

I thought I heard they were working through one of those underground/ indie labels that are popular right now, I forget which.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one.

I didn't think Genocide and Juice was as good an album as it was an album cover.

It's got some good songs, but overall The Coup never lived up to their hype.

Their newest release will be on Epitath.

I would say that "Steal This Album" was their pinnacle, and the one that did live up to the hype (whatever hype there might have been, if any off of the left coast).
