Your favorite LP from the 90's (Part 2)

93-94

If you thought the last poll was hard, ha!

Really it's coming down to Wu, Nas, Tribe and prolly B.I.G. So vote wisely. I'm sure we'll see some votes for the Nuts, OK and Black Moon, but quiet frankly I'd be suprised if any of them give Illmatic a run for its money.

When this poll is done, I will eliminate the top 5 choices and add 5 more and we'll run it one more time without the obvious ones as a choice.

HAD to go with ATCQ, but it saddened me greatly to see 36th Chambers and LOTUG on here as well.

I lay puzzled as I backtrack to earlier times, nothing's equivilent... to the N.Y. State of Mind.

I like singles off both Ready To Die & Enter The 36 Chambers more [Gimme The Loot & C.r.e.a.m.] but as a whole Illmatic is unfuckwitable.

had to go with illmatic... on some other day it could be tribe, wu or redman as well.

how do you not dig Doggstyle?

but i went cliche with this one and voted illmatic cuz it's just flat out my favorite hip hop album ever.

tho i want to give a vote to every album on the list b/c they deserve it.

That's going to be a tough poll, (95-96) because there's not only going to be Dah Shinin, but don't forget Liquid Swords, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Ironman, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous, ATLiens...

i dont dig doggystyle cause outside of the few singles, snoop's lyrics are horrible. its easy to tell when DOC wrote a song and when snoop wrote a song.

DOC songs- what's my name, gin & juice, which have creative wordplay and all-together dope rhymes

Snoop songs - incessant repetition of such phrases as "laid up in the cut" and "d o double g" that show absolutely no creativity or rhyme skill.

homie got a smooth voice, but he cant write raps to save his life. its easy to tell how wack snoop is when you check doggfather and the no limit releases

dogg food destroys this album

Holy unlyrical lyrics, Batman!

If you're judging records by lyrics alone, then that's your preference- but I think when it comes to music it's not just what you say but how you say it.
Snoop had that flow that made what he said sound good, even if it wasn't well written.
Dre's production on Doggystyle was top notch as well. His beat for Lodi Dodi is
