By non-classic, do you mean bad? Average?

I think To Whom It May Concern is a dope album ..

oh i misunderstood the question...in that case the answers are endless

a better and more thought provoking question would be...the worst album(s) that contain a classic song

Not a classic song but dope nonetheless:

Lil Troy et al - Wanna be a baller
(Mr Scarface had already been previously released)

Jesus, was that album horrendous

"Bitch Please" Snoop and Xzibit

"The Hilton" Ghostface and Raekwon

"Find a Way" ATCQ

"Who Shot Rudy?" Screwball (I'm not saying Y2K ain't a good album...it's like a 4.98/5 just not classic.)

"Friends" KRS-One (from I GOT NEXT)

"Ultimate" Artifacts

this really could go on forever...

There were several classic cuts on that album

"At The Helm"
"Dune Methane"
"Miles To The Sun"
"You Never Knew"
etc.

..although it is one of my favourite albums so I'm very biased.

WRONG. That is an average song on a classic album.

this is dangerously close to turning into a 'that album IS a classic' thread

ahem cough casual cough clear throat

which is why it needs to be not very good albums with classic song(s)

Oh please
"doe or doe" has lots of great tracks on it besides "rather unique" :
.."sugar hill", "uncut raw", "gimme yours", "doe or die", "ho happy jackie" and "mo' money mo' murder".

Here's some suggestions :

Tim Dog & Krs One-i get wrecked (off "do or die").

Jungle Brothers, Q. Tip & De La Soul-how ya want it (off "raw deluxe").

Raekwon-sneakers (off "immobilarity").

Noreaga-bloody money part 3 (off "melvyn flynt da hustla").

Grand Puba-up and down (off "understand this").

rather unique is the only classic song on doe or die...in fact the others arent even close and imo are up for debate as to their greatness even

Haha
c'mon - "mo' money mo' murder.." isn't classic..?
you're such a curmudgeon sometimes
"doe or die" is also better than any Hiero album while we're at it.

Anyway, movin' swiftly on :

Run Dmc-beats to the rhyme (off "tougher than leather").

L.L Cool J-i shot ya + the remix (off "mr. smith").

oh lord

its not better than any of the pre 95 heiro albums...and casuals album pisses all over doe or die

casual on fear itself>>>>>>>>>>az on everything hes ever done combined

and if casual was from the bridge and mentioned alpo a couple times in his rhymes youd think so too

That's simply not true, Bent
not just because of the Alpo namedrops and his slick style but because AZ is (originally) from Brooklyn.
AZ's verses on "life's a bitch" and "mo' murder.." eclipse the entire Hiero catalog
i do like "feat itself" and that later Casual "gotta get down" joint that Alchemist produced though.

im just sayin you have an obvious bias towards ny street shit...which is cool its what you like...but it becomes a handicap when you are required to honestly evaluate certain mc's

ie AZ's verses on "life's a bitch" and "mo' murder.." eclipse the entire Hiero catalog

btw casuals (and hieros) best song is 'later on'

True
but you could also say you have a bias towards more humble and introspective post-Native Tongues rappers...which is cool its what you like...but it becomes a handicap when you are required to honestly evaluate certain mc's.

ie Casual on fear itself>>>>>>>>>>az on everything hes ever done combined

Especially considering his debut verse on "life's a bitch"
which is one of the greatest debut verses in rap history.

Okay, you might not like "doe or die" that much for whatever reason but "mo' money, mo' murder.." isn't a classic..?
the two of them on some cinematic storytellin' shit takin' the whole 'G Rap/'"cuban linx" steez to the next level and a killer O'Jays loop
..then i don't know what to say.
