Always appreciated, one of my all time favourites, and one of the first groups I got into.

Here's a story, I got Hold It Down for free, it was fucking rad. I didn't really get into it at first, but holy shit... what an album

Hold It Down is their best, straight bangin' beats and gritty ass raps. Pete Rock, Premier and Easy Mo Bee all laced this shit.

Dead Serious is a close second for me on the strength of the original versions of Mic Checka and They Want EFX

The intro to hold it down is that shit man. Once again up in the muthafuc*in house(no doubt!). Gets me hype. Too bad I only have the edited version on vinyl... Did Das Efx make unedited albums???

Their first two were edited but Hold It Down wasn't. I've never heard the two albums that came after that.

Would someone be kind enough to upload Generation EFX? I can hook up Dead Serious, we can get a flood going.

It's cool to see the positive thoughts on Hold It Down..

It's a lot like Brand Nubian's Everything Is Everything to me..

Nobody was checking for either of these artists at the time they dropped the LP's, but I copped and said "shit this isn't half bad"..But you never hear anything about it, and just assume that everyone thought it was trash..

Some good production on Hold It Down.

It's not like Das is reinventing the wheel or anything, but it's a cool listen.

I agree with everything you say (No) Diggedy, I have always loved Diggy Das and I think I did a post about them a while back...I still have faith that they will drop another dope album...in order for me it goes...

Generation EFX isn't that great but there are at least 3 songs worth a DL...if I can dig it up I'll upload.

Das EFX's first three albums are all fresh though.

Yup, COSIGN! Don't get nearly the love they should nowadays. Pioneered a new era in hip hop & rapping.

First time i ever rapped in front of a real hip hop producer was to the b-side of mic checka... never forget that in my life!
