Most Complete Hip-Hop LP (1994)

Post by Philaflava »

This is gonna be tougher than the last one. Please select your choice as the most 'complete' hip-hop album from 1994. I know there are a lot of them, but if you had to pick one...

Between Resurrection and Illmatic, I gotta give it up to Queensbridge's finest.

I voted Resurrection because it probably made me love hip-hop even more than Illmatic did. Plus, it has an element mostly missing from Illmatic: humor.
When we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.

I had to take Illmatic, although I'm kinda surprised Do You Want More had no votes. I fucking love that album. I've gone through 3 CDs just from playin' it out.

I don't know what you mean by "complete". Do you mean the best/closest to flawless (Illmatic) or the actual most complete in terms of all aspects of hip hop (Ready to Die)?
