^^that's the version! except the one I had was with the same verses as the album track (this one has a different Nas verse). back when the Fat Joe album version came out I had this version on a compilation CD that got passed around in high school with the track labeled as the "DJ Premier" remix. It was an un-mixed version - no blends or scratch intro/outro or anything - just the straight track, so not quite like the falsely labeled "8 Steps to Perfection - DJ Premier Remix" off of "NY Reality Check."

Maybe it's just my association of it with that CD from back then, or it's the "Flight Time" sample or the way the hook is scratched (even though it is the same as the album version hook), but I've always thought of it as a Premier beat and just figured it never got much recognition. I'd like to know who produced it though - it definitely bangs, and as far as I know it's not available on vinyl.
