Post by Galvatron78 »

If you don't know who the X-men are and you DJ you need to slit your own got-damn throat slowly. i've been sittin on these tapes for as long as I've had em' so here ya go and enjoy some real DJ'ng. Oh discussions on the crew is a must too....A beat Junkies and ISP flood is coming too.

Yo thanks for this tape, I never had this one. I have a crate full of mixes I need to digitize, all that ISP, X-Men, Scratch Hamsters, 5th Platoon, Beat Junkie etc. Please keep these tapes coming. I have a few already digitized that I will throw up soon and add on.

Many thanks for these, it's appreciated.

I'm probably wrong but they changed their name either right at the end of the 90s or 2000/2001, I think.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Their first album came out in 1997 and they were called X-Ecutioners then.

I'll dig through my mixtape collection, cos I know I've got some good stuff I can post.

Yeah I think they changed the name right before I think. I always assumed it was a copyright issue with the name since Stan Lee probably owns it. So I figured they changed the name so they could release official albums as a group.

Precision (who was taught by Rob Swift and soon to be 2007 DMC World Champion), Total Eclipse and Rob Swift are Ill Insanity. Precision to me brought back that ill shit in dj'n...everybody from like 2004 and up was making their own records and it was cool when Klever and Q-bert and Mixmaster Mike were doing it but then everyone tried to sound like I.Emerge and the stuff got real corny in my opinion. Precision goes back to flippin' O.G. records (peep what he does to Outkast's "The Whole World" and "RockWilda"). if i can crunch it down i'll upload his 2002 Us Finals set (which he should have won IMO). i wanna hear more shit from boogie Blind though....

the x-men are legendary...i was always hurt about the name change, shit just fit so well.

i remember when they battled ISP at DMC or ITF, one of those competitions. they lost but i always thought it was pretty even.
