I'm searching for this one for months now
now I know it's shared on 3 different songs:
boogiemonsters - Whoever You Ar (Wherever You Ar) (from their 2nd album god sound)
canibus - secrets amongst cosmonauts (from his last album from whom the beat tolls I think is the title)
and I just noticed it's also used on
koushik - welcome (from his last album out my window)

anyone ?

The way they hooked the bassline on this one is the same as something else.Something pretty obscure, godmc or LG would probably know.I'm sure I have it,just don't remember what it is.

good to know:
Dr Who Dat? (Jneiro Jarel) sampled Arthur Verocai's Pela Sombras on Brazilian Thought

I'm trying to find what is the vocal sample used on these 2 songs:
Frankie Cutlass - Here We Go (starting @ approx. 01:14)
Dela - Chill (feat. Large Pro) (Lark Chillout Mix) (starting @ approx. 03:11)

my guts tell me sth like The Beach Boys

Lark Chillout is a member of A.Y.B. Force. an all-Japanese trio I think not sure. I dig his remixes a lot. his group released a great album of jazzy break beats in 2006 called Lost Breaks. I guess you know about Dela and I posted the Frankie Cutlass album not too long ago on here...

That's funny,as soon as I heard the Q-Tip song ,I knew I heard the sample before and my girl found the original for me on youtube. And I said no,Dilla or somebody used it in the last couple of years and they hooked it up better.Than last night I found it on that Madlib Beat cd.I think it would've been ill if Q Tip rhymed over that one with the singing still in it and all.Maybe as a remix, because Q-Tip's version is better sonically and as a radio song. But Madlib's is slightly more entertaining,IMO :megaman:

don't have this particular one. but you just have to right click the gif to find out her name. she's real ugly in the face though

back on topic:

Nicolay sampled (or made an interpolation - don't know what's the appropriate term in this particular example) Jaco Pastorius's Portrait of Tracy:

While listening to The Blackbyrds' City Life album about a month ago, I stumbled upon this eerily familiar part off All I Ask (01:40-01:51). I'm sure there are more tracks that sampled this particular part that I'll uncover, but here's what I have so far. Feel free to add on.

I didn't hear the "Sorcerers" song, but I would guess that they just rhymed over that Doom beat that Ho1ogramz posted.

Dope shit,Ho1o.All I knew was the Doom beat and the Down To Erf.
I'm a huge fan of Doom beats. That being said,I like how he hooked it,but I think Down To Erf gave that smooth sample the hook up it called for.

That whole Les McCann album is a classic,Layers(1972),have on vinyl not mp3,sorry

Do you have the mp3 for that Les McCann,"What's Goin' On"?Shit's ill.
The intro also sounds like "Erase Racism" or something like that.

And chillhood, that Jacob Pastorius joint is great, too,I never heard that.

Yeah they did just that. I'm on your side. The Golden Boy laced that sample in Formation the best imo.
