I never realized that was a sample for escape the streets, but then I heard the same loop in another song.

Eumir Deodato definitely has some nice samples, he might be a bit underrated in the sample digging world in that regard.

Here's the source of Exotic Is Raw by Neek The Exotic & Large Professor. This has always been one sample I've really wanted to know the source of, that violin loop is so sinister and intriguing. It's not on YouTube yet so here's the mp3

^Ahhh, thanks! I heard this a while ago and couldn't figure out where the hell i heard it. i know the horns were in a few joints but the masta ace reminisce song is the shit, especially on a summer day like this.

^night_shade...see where it says v= at the end of the You Tube link?...just grab what comes after that then click the youtube box in the forum and you will be good, for example I just grabbed f5Eiyv9QD7M for this clip.

someone have a clue as to which sample(s) are used on this track? i can't believe there's no instru to this track, hands down my fav produced track on lyricist lounge. someone posted it was a track called "into the night" by julee cruise, but i don't think that's it unless kenny diaz flipped it in some insane way that bears no resemblance to the original.

@atlantiswasreal: i agree, that A.L. cut was always my favorite joint off that lounge shit. Thats a tough one tho, it does sound like the elements are in that Julee Cruise song. Im thinking that if it is indeed that song sampled then he must have slowed it down a little, chopped and re-arranged it because i do not hear that exact melody in there. But when hearing it i do get that feeling that the sample is gonna show itself any second.

verge, yeah, i totally get an overall feeling like that sample might be from that julee cruise song, but not quite. for years i've been dying to make an instru of that A.L. song - i think the actual rhyming on that track is really weak but the beat is so fucking beautiful. but as you may have noticed, A.L. doesn't shut up on a single part of the hook/instru break down.
