^No problem. It's always fun coming across samples, I imagine it must have been extra satisfying back in the nineties when the music was still new and you had to dig through records to find them. I suppose you would've had CDs and tapes too.

Remember Positive K's Nightshift Remix? That song was one of my favorites for the summer of '93. Herbie Mann's "Push" has a 4 bar flute loop sampled for the song. The whole song is funky and worth a listen, featuring great players such as Bernard Purdie and Chuck Rainey.

:17-:21 sounds a lot like Nas - Life is Like a Dice Game...but it's not quite right...or is there just another layer in there?

word, i love that sample. It's also Juggaknot's "Rainy Saturday". For some reason, maybe the melody is similar or something, but before i knew the sample source i always thought it had something to do with that 80's song "i keep holding on" (Simply Red - Holding Back The Years). heh.

Word! That Juggaknots track is pretty hectic, they grab samples from a few different places.

That's definitely the sample, nice ear/memory Infinity.

I don't think it's the track I'm thinking of though...hmm.

ill try and add shit to this thread that cant be found on whosampled.com

i have a ton of shit but i never remember song titles... i just remember things like "oh that sample on the Brass Monkey album with the weird monkey candle thing on the cover? yeah its on side A, second song"... so it might take me some time to post things...

i dont think this one has been talked about on the net as far as ive seen:

which is Jay Electronica - Swagger Jacksons Revenge:

pretty sure he sampled the album version (the one i have) but i didnt see that one on the youtoobz... either way, pretty much the same exact song

I couldn't find anything about this online. I was just watching Uncle Buck and noticed this scene.

It's just additional movie music done by Matt Dike and Michael Ross who founded Delicious Vinyl, the label that put out Masta Ace's album.

A bit of this Modern Jazz Quartet track is in J Rocc's Syndromes tape that was just posted in the requests thread. Mixed Elements use it in Northern Exposure, and Diamond D on Epilogue, apparently ME sold him the sample. I've always thought it was a really haunting melody.
