^That shit is dope! I like the the main use of the sample and the drums that go with it on the ME song. But I don't like the horn in it.

There would be absolutely no reason to announce your intention if you obviously were not implying it there, boss.

You're off base, sir. There's shit just on the last page that's not on whosampled.com... I read most of this thread (before i posted to it), simply because im a sample fiend, so yeah, like i said... obviously I know that Im not the first... . i want to post things that I think people havent heard yet, thats the only implication I was making.. go back and re-read it after disabling the standard condescending message board filter that is normally applied liberally to every post
not sure why I even feel the need to explain... you're reading into things that arent there, bro... can we talk music now?
back to the samples....anyone have any idea who sampled this? its been bothering me for a while... the part that I think was sampled is around the 3 minute mark and maybe the bassline in the beginning too? i want to say it was an early to mid 90s track, but i could be completely off
night_shade wrote:Dope beat, cryptic. And that Common track isn't it either, I'll come across it eventually I'm sure.
thanks man... hmm, I really thought that common track was it... i feel like maybe DJ Krush used it too but i couldnt find anything in my searches

I've been trying to find out the original from these two:
does anyone know the sample that the doppelgangaz used for 'smoke mics'?

whats up man.
this shits gonna bother me until its figured out. I sampled it myself years ago so it must not be anything that obscure or rare so someone out here should know it. Its probably some CTI shit or Quincy Jones shit...
I thought it was cool to hear an alternate version of the original sample for Gangstarr's "Beyond Comprehension" in this new box set and album stream of The Band's music.
