Ok...I've been quietly at work on some party breaks for my upcoming 90's Reggae-Hip Hop mixtape series. Thought I'd drop one here for the Phila fam and see what the general reaction is. These aren't the type of party breaks to drop in a club....they're more for head-bobbin mixtape use. Lemme know what y'all think...

djfilthyrich, how is your mix project going man? Also, weird request- does anyone know of a dancehall / ragga mix or cover of Tracey Ullman's Fast Car (?) over the beat / riddim for Tiger's Ram Dancehall? I heard a bit of it the other day. Or a ragga version of Harold Melvin's You Know How to Make Me? I have no idea where else I'm supposed to ask this.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Hey Shadow....the project is coming along very slowly, as I'm currently on a job search. The bright side is that I've finally finished making my party breaks, so I should be ready to start recording soon when I find the time.

I think this is the reggae version of Fast Car that you're looking for...it's over the Taxi riddim, which is what the Tiger tune uses too

Is this the reggae version of the Harold Melvin tune that you're talking about?

not sure if you've all seen this, but here's a dope performance by the Fugees at The Apollo in 1996. Features some reggae vibes courtesy of Mad Spider and Mafia. P.S. I know it's been taking forever, but I've finished recording the intro to my reggae-hiphop mix. It took a flat tire on a long weekend for me to be forced to sit down and record it. Glad it happened. Stay tuned...
