This record is limited to only 200 pieces, since we doubt we could sell more if we tried.

that 'high like a bird' sounds like a remix of 'sacks 5th ave' on his game 12"

If they sell all the copies, and everyone else gets to hear it online, fuck it...

Price is 80.00 USD plus shipping & handling fees.

Philaflava will stay DOWNLOADING all their releases. The poor soul who actually spends $80 at a time like this on a piece of new wax.

each medal has two sides

Side A:
- to be a record collector
- support the artists for further releases
- costs for the person who works for projects like this / bills
- get new music you like cause there is so much weak shit outside nowadays

Side B:
- you like the music but you don't need the original
- to expensive
- nice to have but not a must have

You decide... This will always be a topic for discussions.

All I can say is that I don't want to go to work every day without income and I would always try to ear as much as possible.

as an artist , i can say it's annoying to lose sales to downloading but $80 bucks is ridiculous...so, with that said, javascript:emoticon(':upload:') already

What could be the solution?

- exists a higher demand for releases with lower prices if you still have a chance to download?
- exists a higher risk with a run of 500 copies instead of 200?
- are the expectations of the artists to high for independent releases because the golden era is over?
- are collectors to crazy?

well I don't know...

the answer to all the questions above is "yes".
the thing is, collectors are gonna hunt down the music if they're serious about it. but not everyone is a collector. some people just wanna throw that shit in their ipods and listen to it. by pressing 200 copies, they're gonna sell them all but also they gotta accept that (at least) 90% of the listeners would rather download it for free. sad but true.

I'd never pay $80 for a record, but then again I'm not a vinyl collector. Not sure if I would pay that even if I was. I am anxious to hear the full songs though so I'll be waiting for an upload.

i wouldn't pay $80 for a project like this, as dope as it may be. the alps cru just dropped a loudmouths 12" and pushed it for $35 which wasn't entirely unreasonable. though i'm down with puttin' up decent money for an og piece of wax that has sentimental value. it's all about taking ownership of a small piece of history that... for lack of a better phrase... seriously fucking matters to you. some people purchase it and could give two shits over whether they ever spin it or not.

Lord Digga was on Stretch n Bobbito in 97 or early 98 with a DAT of his own beats and he did like 3 live joints from what I remember. All I can remember is a joint "Land Down Under" and him saying "in jets with joe klecko and pounds of dope.." on another beat. And they played the demo version of "My Flows is Tight",which was much better IMO. If anyone has this night, please :upload:

It'd be nice if the cats that did the Godfather Don, Kwest Mad Lad,and Buckwild "Lost Sessions" cd's last year(you know what I mean,Ithink the same people released all of these),did a Lord Digga one containing everything on the "1 Leg Up" version plus what I've mentioned and whatever else Digga has floating around and sold it for a reasonable price. The artist, label, and fans would all be much better off.

IMO ODB "Brooklyn Zoo" Lord Digga remix 1 of my top 10 remixes of all time
