I definitely played more of Contra than i did Zelda as a kid. One of the best two player games ever.
Voting against Zelda because, while its an incredible groundbreaking game, its no better than the 4th best game in the series for me, if that.

nah, contra had the replay value that zelda didnt
and two player action makes it even more replayable in my opinion

when you had another dude playing besides you that sucked ass the game took on a whole new meaning, especially if you didnt have 30 dudes

When this happened I would just go really fast up the upwards-scrolling levels and kill them off. I must have gotten into at least a dozen minor fistfights over being a dickhead in Contra

Voted Contra because seldom a year goes by that I don't fire it up and run through it once or twice.
