Soundbars and Wireless Speakers

Post by Dwight Strawberry »

I'm thinking of getting a soundbar for my TV (50")

any recommendations? I don't need it to be super loud, but help fill the room with sound that complements the stock TV speakers.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a wireless speaker that will be appreciated. Looking for a satellite wireless speaker I can bring on the patio with me that will relay whatever is being played on the TV.

Thanks!

I have always been a fan of Polk Audio speakers. I know they make a soundbar and I am pretty sure they make wireless indoor/outdoor speakers

I looked on Amazon and those Polk's are pretty expensive.

I've seen VIZIO and LG ones for around $100. Anyone have any feedback on these?

I wouldn't really recommend sound bars if you care too much about quality. If you just want quick upgrade over tv speakers then go for it. If you really want good sound you going to need to invest in speakers and receiver.

I tried a Samsung sound bar about a year ago. It was around $350 or so. I didn't want to run wires so I thought it was best bet. It was ok but I just said fuck it and returned it and upgraded to the Bose 2 speaker with sub combo. Huge difference.

Not sure if you would want to spend this much, but I highly recommend getting just Definitive studio monitor book shelf speakers if you don't want to go for real 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. These have great bass for just bookshelves and don't take up too much space.

I started with just those two but ended up getting the whole 5.1 set up.

Those are great too and cheaper.
