Classic Games You (shamefully) Never Played
I'm talking games in genres you are actually a fan of. For example, if you hate RPG's, then listing FF7 or Chrono Trigger is retarded. Here's some of mine:
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: No idea why I never played this considering the Zelda series is one of my favorites of all time and I've beaten every other game in the series multiple times. I plan on correcting this after I catch up on all the good Wii games (all 5 of them) and Uncharted 2.
Splinter Cell (any of them): And I like stealth action games. No idea why I never took the plunge.
Manhunt
Call of Duty 4
God of War 2

The only zelda game I have ever played was the first one.
I have never played any Nintendo games after the NES except for Mario Kart on N64, and a few others on my DS.
As a kid I mostly played sports games, so I missed ou on a lot of games that I am making my way back too also. I didn't get into adventure games until the first Tomb Raider game.
The only Final Fantasy game I have played is 7.
The only fighting games I have played are Mortal Kombat and Soul Caliber.
I play way more video games now than I ever did as a kid. When I was young I would always be outside riding my bike. So I was never inside playing games.

Majora's mask was not that great IMO. There's nothing particularly bad about it but it just plays like an OOT expansion pack or something.Tommy Bunz wrote:Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: No idea why I never played this considering the Zelda series is one of my favorites of all time and I've beaten every other game in the series multiple times. e-friendship OVER.
It would suck if it's too dated now to get the same effect, but seriously, I've never had as good a gaming experience as Ocarina of Time. That was pretty much the perfect game.

majora's mask was very original. there were multiple playable characters and novel gameplay mechanics like the time running out & repeating calendar/groundhog day thing. the levels were well designed and memorable. it's a worthy sequel and not just a rehash of ocarina.
i regret never playing resident evil 5. looks classic status to me. and the latest gameboy zelda.

Yeah both of these you need to play as soon as possible. Ocarina is good enough that after a while you won't care about the graphics. Metal Gear, you should really start with the first game, if you can't handle the PS1 graphics there is always the remake The Twin Snakes on GameCube. At bare minimum, you have to play MGS 1 & 3.noshadesofgrey wrote:I've never played any of the Metal Gear games which makes me lose game cred and is fairly shameful for me to admit.

5? You mean 4? Resident Evil 5 just came out this year, fun game but not near as good as the fourth game.EMCEE DARTH MALEK wrote: i regret never playing resident evil 5. looks classic status to me.
Word. I plan on eventually catching up with all of my list, minus CoD4.HomeSkillet wrote:Tommy Bunz you need to play the original Manhunt ASAP.

flawed genre. i dont see how anyone with a job can have time for that shit.HomeSkillet wrote: I've missed out on lots of "classic" Jap RPGs because I have a somewhat low tolerance for that shit, I mean I played Final Fantasy and stuff
tommy, nah i did mean 5. i wanna play it cause 4 was so dope. I played the demo of 5 over and over but then my friend w/ a ps3 got fired by vancouver's new socialist/homo/vegetarian mayor and had to move to the suburbs.

I missed out on A LOT of games. Never played any of the Zelda games....EVER! I want to eventually, but I always get side tracked with new games.
Have no clue what uncharted is but everyone is making a big rant about it. Still haven't finished resident evil 5 either. My wii is virtually untouched....and I have like twenty games for it...most haven't been opened yet...
I usually can't decide what I want to play and then I just sit there watchn tv and before u know it, I'm like fuck it...I ain't playn today.

wow. both of you should get on this. at the very least play chaos theory, its the most figured out of all of them in terms of mechanics and moves and devices. but if you decide to play all of them you should play them in order, they are not very backwards compatible in terms of how you would think/plan to get something done.Seiko Flossberg wrote:Word.Tommy Bunz wrote:Splinter Cell (any of them): And I like stealth action games. whoever mentioned the metal gears really really needs to play Snake Eater. best theme song and final boss. 'the boss' is a really really sweet character and when it first came out i swore that THE END was the best fucking boss fight i had ever played and when i think about it now, it still holds true when i think about how dope it was at the time. just got a ps3 with mgs4 though. so well see how that maintains....
never had a 64 so i never really got to play the 64 zelda games very much
