Where is the E3 thread?

Post by Gregg Popabitch »

If we don't have one, can you just drop news and trailers in here so I don't have to go searching google for everything?

thanks

Non-gaming related news, but ESPN is coming to the 360 in HD, and free to watch for Gold subscribers. It also has Kinect (Natal) related features enabling you to control what you watch via voice control. I'm pretty sure it'll be a US-only deal though.

Nintendo announced some new games - New Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Epic Mickey, Golden Sun - as well as showing off some we already knew about, such as Metroid Other M and the Goldeneye Remake. They also showed the 3DS with a new Kid Icarus game as the launch title.

The 3DS looks quite similar to the DS. It has dual screens, although the upper screen is widescreen and bigger than the lower screen which still works as a touch pad. There's a round analogue pad thing on the left hand side above the normal D-pad. It's backwards compatible with the DSi. It has dual cameras on the front, so you can take pictures and view them in 3D. The level of 3D is controlled with a slider, so you can turn the 3D off and adjust the effect.

They showed a trailer of the Kid Icarus game, but the trailer was in 2D. They'll be showing a 3D trailer on the show floor later today and people will have the chance to play the game. The graphics looked a little better than the DS graphics, but it's hard to tell just how good it will look as I was watching on a 22" screen, so that will make the graphics look worse, and obviously I have no idea how well the 3D effect will work. After showing it to the audience, they played video footage of various game devs and journalists saying how amazing it looks.

They also announced a bunch of partnerships for the 3DS including Capcom for Resident Evil, EA for Madden and Konami for Metal Gear Solid.

Overall, a great conference for Nintendo IMO.

I'm interested in a RPG PC game that is single player and free roaming at the same time, much like Oblivion a few years back. I tried Fallout 3 but didn't really like it. Any suggestions?

In the live demos, there was a lot of input lag, just like there was with MS's demo of Kinect yesterday.

The pricing is what's gonna hold it back though. The crowd cheered when the said 50 bucks, but they soon shut up when they said it's another 30 for the other half of the controller, plus you need a PS Eye on top of that. If you don't own a PS Eye already, a 1 player set up will cost $130 and a 2 player set up will cost $210. Some games need two of the "wand" parts too.

Yeah, the PS3 move was definitely not one on one. I wasn't impressed with it too much.

Sigma, I don't think I've ever seen him say any positive thing about PS ever.

Dead Space 2 is going to be fucking legit.

Kevin Butler is fucking awesome. Dude is entertaining as hell. LOL @ "sale on blue ponchos" and "Gaming is about having a ridiculously big TV in a small one room apartment."

I want to buy PSP just for God of War and MGS.

Little big Planet 2 looks dope as hell too.

FFXIV looks amazing. Too bad i dont play mmorpg. I might start because of this.

Killzone 2 looks insane.

Heroes on the move looked gay.

New God of War for PSP. I want.

They recreated the Playstation booth at E3 on the Playstation Home so everyone here that has a PS3 can check out all the shit at E3 at home.

that star wars trailer was better than most star wars movies. :megaman:

Nintendo can just keep doing remakes of their old games and i won't complain.
