I cannot live without Swype. The KB on my Milestone gets no use.

I visit XDA a few times a week. Ive been going there for a few years for WM support. Its one of the best sites out there for Android. It's just kind of a pain to find what you are looking for. The reason is, there are separate sub forums for each device.

I dont have a problem finding the newest info for my device maybe cause the nexus one is the most developed?

I find the titles to the forum threads to be really "techy" at times though

it works, not flawlessly but it works. It works well enough for me to not convert any divx movies that I download to another format.

I've used Easytether but not PDAnet. PDAnet might be more popular because it's been around for a while on other platforms.

I was using an older (but "free") version of Easytether and never had an issue. I'll post the file later if you want to try it.

What device are you using? I rooted my device for the sole purpose of being able to tether wirelessly.

Try mounting it and running a check disk.

from a command prompt type:

chkdsk f: /r

(where "f" is the drive letter)

if that dont work, try spending $5 on an sd card reader and let your computer read from it directly.

Got the Captivate a few days back. Aside from weak GPS and clunky PC software/drivers (as well as AT&T's insistence on making users unable to sideload apps), couldn't be happier. Haven't found many apps beyond the basic common ones that I'm crazy about.

Here's what I've installed so far:

-Apps-
Facebook
Twitter (though I hear I should be using Twidroid- confirm/deny?)
eBuddy
Pandora
Barcode Scanner
Ringdroid (waveform editor used [obviously] for clipping ringtones)
PicSay (basic image editor, basically got a single use out of this)
Kindle
StreamFurious (streaming internet radio- using it to stream my college station)
Instant Buttons (soundboard app)

-Games-
Abduction! (free Doodle Jump clone)
Trap! (Jezzball clone)
Solitaire
Word Drop

Any glaring omissions I need?

ATT sucks for this.

You should still be able to install non market apps, but its a pain. I was able to do it on a Motorola Backflip following this guide:
