Metal Gear Solid/Silent Hill/ZoE HD collections (PS3/360)

Post by Sigma »

Both collections are coming to 360 and PS3.

Both collections have been optimized and rebuilt for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with new user interfaces for the HD resolutions, redrawn art, brand new Trophies/Achievements, right analog stick and rumble support, and improved audio.
The MGS collection is out in November this year, while the ZoE collection comes out some time next year.

EDIT - There's also a Silent Hill collection coming.
For the nostalgic, Konami has bundled Silent Hill 2 and 3 into an HD package called Silent Hill Collection. These two titles are getting the high-definition upgrade, so a whole new audience can enjoy these horror classics. No release date has been announced.

Guess I should sell off my PS2 copy of ZOE2 before it completely loses its value.

Just realized that this includes Peace Walker instead of MGS1.

mgs1 is probably the only one where i'd notice the improvement. like if you put 2 side by side with the HD remake sure, but without comparison i doubt i'd see the difference.

interested in the silent hill one though, haven't played that since playstation 1
1. Nas

Although I wish the collection included MGS1, I haven't played Peace Walker due to not owning a PSP so it will be cool to play it when this comes out.

Hideo Kojima series (creater of Metal Gear). Mechs in space. Plays kinda like a beat-em-up but theres like shooter and rpg elements mixed in.
The first Zoe was a PS2 launch title. Decent but really not all that memorable to be honest. Short game.
The 2nd one has really beautiful cell-shaded graphics, good story, much more involved gameplay. One of the most underrated games on the system and very recommended.

Glad that the MGS collection has Peacewalker instead of MGS1 as I've never played it and if you wanna play an upgraded version of the first game you should just play the Twin Snakes version for Gamecube.

The Silent Hill one is pretty intriguing to me as 2 is probably the creepiest game ever and I've never played 3. I'm curious to see screenshots of the HD versions though as they were pretty rough looking graphically.

Well done. MGS3 might be the best video game of all time.

Yeah I reread and had the same pause. First MGS missing gets the gas face.

Agreed, that makes me actually feel like picking this up because I haven't played Peace Walker yet. Also, I owned Twin Snakes and I imagine that Konami didn't want to pay whatever fees/license agreements/etc. to Nintendo to bring that over to the PS3/360 or go through the trouble of re-making the game again.

^dope to hear. i popped in 'peace walker' when i first brought the collection home, watched 35 minutes of intro, played for ten minutes and really wasn't caring for it. though i can't imagine it will happen anytime in the near future, i think i'll skip that one and go straight to 'snake eater' now
