Looks awesome. Heard about this game a couple of weeks back but I didn't know Naughty Dog were doing this. Should be great.

Naughty Dog is best known for the Uncharted games this generation, although they're also responsible for the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games on the PS1/PS2.

Got ya.

I'm XBox 360, but man oh man, the Uncharted franchise makes me think about getting a PS3 just for those games. And now this game looks fresh as well.

Yeah pretty excited for this and for Naughty Dog to release a new IP.
Will be the game Resident Evil 5 should have been.
Female character looks and sounds way too Ellen Page-y.

I wonder if this means that they won't be personally developing any more Uncharted games. Makes sense though, They cut bait with Crash Bandicoot and the Jak games after the third installment of each.

Explain to me how this will be different from "Left 4 Dead." Co-sign on the Juno sentiment.

Does anyone know if this will be 1st or 3rd person style gameplay?

Here's the E3 demo (but watch it in HD on YouTube): -

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ZYkj0glnqs?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ZYkj0glnqs?ve ... n_GB&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

It looks heavily scripted, but apparently it can play out in different ways depending on how you approach the situation. Also, the AI is supposedly very realistic and people will respond differently to you depending on if you're carrying a gun or not - things like that. The violence is also much more realistic than something like Uncharted, where you can fire a machine gun into a guy from point blank range and it still takes half a clip to take them down. The incidental chatter is meant to be excellent too - a lot of games have that sort of thing, like when enemies see you and they shout "he's over there" or whatever, but you often hear repetition and it's all a bit "video game", but with this, again, it's supposedly much more realistic. Someone who saw an hour long demo of this behind closed doors said that it's the most violent game they've ever seen, solely because of the realism.

When I saw the demo, I initially thought it looked great, but I also thought "take the girl out of it and is it just Uncharted again?" as I've kinda got bored of that series, but having read more about it and heard opinions from people that have seen more of it, I'm really hyped for this now. Shame it's not out until 2013!

Oh yeah - and it's not a "hand holding" type game like Ico. Apparently the devs wanted to avoid that sort of thing, so the girl will get involved depending on how you react to a situation. Approach a situation one way and she might hide, but tackle it another way and she might get involved in the fight.

This and GTA 5 are dropping around the same time. I'll be using some vacation days from work in the spring it looks like.
