i've got the PC gaming blues.
all i really want to do is play counterstrike. tried windows 8, and it worked fine for a while before it started getting really sluggish and glitchy.
then i tried ubuntu, which would freeze randomly until i disabled pulseaudio. pulseaudio is the devil.
then i had mic problems, because everything is awful, always. alsa is dumb.
so i tried Steam OS. it actually runs the game better than either windows or linux, the problem is that pulseaudio is still the devil.
oh well so much for videogames. there's always masturbation.

Re: PC gaming blues.
If you don't want to deal with the "quirks" of PC gaming just get an Xbox One or PS4 (although this won't help you play Counterstrike).
Re: PC gaming blues.
i got a couple of friends who have told me that some (steam) games work on Ubuntu, while others don't. what's exactly the deal with that? is it because Ubuntu is missing certain critical drivers?

Re: PC gaming blues.
that's just a game by game thing. games have to have linux support.
and yeah i mostly just want to play counterstrike.
i'll probably end up reinstalling linux this weekend.
